Doctor's Note When Out Sick
Please note that if your child is out sick for 3 consecutive days, he/she will need a doctor's note to return to school, after the 3rd day of being absent.
UPDATED: Birthday Treats
We know that birthdays are a momentous and special occasion in your child’s life. If your child would like to bring in an item to celebrate this very special occasion, one small, non-edible item (ex: pencil, sticker, etc) is allowed to be brought in. Items will be sent home with students at the end of the day. Only one item should be sent in. No gift bags please.
Invitations to home parties may not be distributed at school or on the bus unless the entire class is invited. The office is not able to furnish parents with phone numbers and addresses of students for invitations.

1 ½ cups brown sugar

-Stir in the pretzels, caramel bits, and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
-Scoop out very large balls of dough (at least ¼ cup, but could be bigger, up to ½ cup) and place on prepared baking sheet, leaving plenty of space in between.

Happy New Year from Health Services!
The main goal of the school nurse is to keep students and staff safe and healthy at school. Below are some reminders on when a child should be kept at home or when a parent will be called to pick up his/her child from school.
• Fever > 100.0F in the past 24 hours --- Tylenol and ibuprofen can mask the effects of a fever. Children should be “fever-free” for 24 hours WITHOUT medicine before returning to school.
• Cough/Congestion/etc. --- Children with “bad” or persistent coughs, especially if it keeps them awake all night, should not be sent to school.
• Vomiting or Diarrhea --- Children who experience more than one episode of vomiting or diarrhea should stay home until 24 hours after the last episode. A child may be sent to school if they only had one episode and the parent is confident it is a “one-time deal” and not related to a virus (such as Miralax administration)
• Strep Throat --- Children diagnosed with strep throat should not be sent to school until after 24 hours of antibiotics or longer if determined by a physician. A doctor’s excuse should also be sent with the child upon their return to school.
• Pink eye --- Children with redness in the white of the eyes, itching, yellow or green discharge, or matted eyelashes are signs of conjunctivitis or pink eye. Pink eye is highly contagious, if these symptoms are present a follow-up with your child’s physician should be done. Children should not be sent to school until after 24 hours of receiving prescribed antibiotic eye drops or as otherwise decided by their physician. A doctor’s excuse should also be sent with the child upon their return to school.
• Rash --- Including, but not limited to blisters that are oozing and painful, could be a sign of a contagious infection such as chicken pox, impetigo, etc. Children should receive a follow-up with a physician before returning to school.
• Wounds or Lesions --- Students with skin infections should follow up with their physician and may return to school at their physician’s discretion. Any wound or lesion with drainage (“pus”) needs to be covered and contained with a clean, dry bandage.
• Pain --- Including earaches, toothaches, headaches, etc. Parents will be called if the child is in severe pain or not able to perform in school due to the pain.
• Any other behavior that indicates the student is not feeling well (in combination with any of the above)
Please note that if your child is out sick for 3 consecutive days, he/she will need a doctor's note to return to school after the 3rd day of being absent.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school safe and healthy!
Health Screenings
Why are health screenings important to my child?
Health screenings give you valuable information about your child’s development.
You will become connected with resources to help prepare your child for success in school.
Screening will help identify any hearing, vision, health, growth, or general development needs your child may have. *
For many children, screenings can mean the difference between success and failure in school. If potential problems are detected at any of the screened areas, the child then has the opportunity to receive specialized help before entering kindergarten.
If you do not have concerns about your child’s health, growth, or development, your school district will still need your child’s screening information and immunization information on file at school.
