On Friday afternoon, the NF students attended our One School, One Book opening assembly...the big reveal. We're happy to announce that this year's book title is, Nim's Island. This is the same book that we attempted to complete prior to the Covid outbreak five years ago. In addition to each child receiving his/her own book, please look for a packet of information that spells out all of the games and activities that are associated with the OSOB program. NF's Family Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 2025 with start times based on your child's last name. Look below at the calendar for specific information. The deadline for attending is this upcoming Monday, March 3rd.The OSOB program will run until right before Spring Break. Join the fun!

Late last month, the PTA announced its winners for the annual PTA awards. The individuals pictured below were selected among many nominated individuals. The Nordonia Schools will recognize PTA winners from all (6) schools later this spring at a special celebration. Congratulations to NF's teachers and highly-involved parents. We appreciate each and every one of you.

The Nordonia Hills City School District has set aside the month of March as "Disability Awareness" month. Throughout the next (3) weeks, NF students and staff will participate in a number of special activities to help raise awareness about special needs of individuals. Coming soon will be a Penny War between classes to help raise funds for the district's annual Special Olympic program in May. School districts from around the region participate in this highly-anticipated, Nordonia led/hosted event.

• OSOB Packet Typo: The OSOB packet that should have come home yesterday, (Friday), has a typo for the OSOB Family Night. Last names A-K attend at 5:30 p.m. and student last names, L-Z attend at 6:30 p.m. An RSVP is requested from the form sent home earlier in February.

• Staff Retirements: The NF community would like to recognize three staff members who have recently announced their retirement intentions. Congratulations are extended to Mr. Doug Del Rosa, (PE), Mrs. Shelley Shipley, (Title 1 Reading), and Mrs. Terri Richuisa, (Co-Teacher/Parapro). We greatly appreciate their years of service and dedication to the Nordonia Schools. My bet is that Mr. DelRosa has a long, fishing vacation ahead of him; whereas, Mrs. Richuisa and Mrs. Shipley will enjoy so much more time with their grandchildren.
