Re: Important Announcement: New Director of Human Resources
Dear Esteemed Education Partners,
On behalf of Multnomah Education Service District, I am thrilled to introduce Bernadette Adeniran as the new Director of Human Resources. Bernadette's first day will be July 1st, 2024.
With over a decade of progressive experience in human resource management within public education settings, Bernadette brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as a Director of Human Resources. Throughout her career, Bernadette has demonstrated a keen ability to evaluate and create systems aimed at providing effective support to staff, schools, departments, and programs. Her unwavering commitment to student success is evident in her adept leadership in various management functions, including staff development, problem-solving, and performance management.
Bernadette excels in navigating the complex landscape of employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with state and federal mandates while fostering inclusive work environments that value diversity and continuous development.
In her current role as a Human Resources Administrator at the Eugene School District 4J, Bernadette manages productive relationships with employee associations, supports collective bargaining negotiations, and resolves workplace disputes through mediation and arbitration. She is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, ensuring that all actions align with the district's objectives and goals.
Bernadette has a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts, both from the University of Oregon. Bernadette holds certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), including the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation and a specialty credential in Workplace Investigations.
Outside of work, Bernadette finds joy in a variety of activities that nourish her mind and soul. A passionate reader, she really enjoys autobiographies. Her most recent finished book was “Finding Me" by Viola Davis.
Recently, she has embarked on a delightful journey into the art of bread baking, relishing in the therapeutic process of kneading dough and witnessing the magic of transformation as it rises in the oven. Bernadette's heart also belongs to her beloved French bulldog, Lola, with whom she cherishes playful moments and leisurely strolls.
We asked Bernadette about her theme song and this is what she said: "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell is one that fills me up every time I hear it. I love old Motown and late 90s Hip Hop.
As she anticipates her role at MESD, she looks forward to visiting all the schools and programs, and she is eager to engage with our vibrant community and contribute her passion and expertise.
Please join me in extending our warmest welcome and congratulations to Bernadette Adeniran as she joins our team! Welcome, Bernadette!
Cordially,
Dr. Paul E. Coakley
Superintendent, Multnomah Education Service District
