Upcoming 8th Grade STEAM Experience- Need Your Help!
ALL 8th grade students will have the opportunity coming up in February to experience a four-day residency with artist, Frank Sentwali called “The Performance Art of Spoken Word.” Students will enhance their development of writing skills, their confidence in self-expression, and their vocal skills, as well as receive Frank Sentwali’s lifetime of knowledge about Hip-Hop and Rap music. Students will write original poetry, style-write it for performance, learn a variety of theater and performance skills, and conduct a “coffeehouse” style open MIC for their peers as well as having the option to perform at the Multicultural Fair in April.
This STEAM experience we feel will have a great impact on our 8th graders. We are asking families to help make a donation to this experience. Please make a donation with whatever you can contribute here:https://square.link/u/p3LGxGQT . We appreciate your support in helping us provide these experiences for our students!
