Notes from East Hill Elementary
November 15, 2024
Message from the East Hill Principal
Hello East Hill Families!
We had so much fun coming together as a school and district today and wearing PJs to support Paige's Pajamarama today!
As temperatures drop, please help our Wildcats stay warm and comfortable by sending them to school with weather-appropriate clothing. We aim to spend time outdoors for recess and physical education whenever possible, so coats, hats, and gloves are essential for keeping everyone prepared and cozy.
Today, we were able to wrap up our seasonal emergency drills. These practice sessions are an important part of keeping our school safe, and our team is committed to guiding students through them in a calm and reassuring way. We are all set with fire drills until spring!
A quick reminder: Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up soon! This is a wonderful chance to collaborate with your child’s teacher and discuss their progress and goals. If you haven’t yet scheduled your conference, please connect with your teacher as soon as possible.
Smile! Picture retake day is Tuesday, November 19. If you'd like your student's picture retaken, please send them into school with the original prints.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend,
Susan Meskos

📢 Elementary Half Days Coming Up 📢
Due to parent/teacher conferences, November 22, 25 and 26 are half days of school for elementary schools only. Dismissal begins at 11:15. Please plan accordingly and notify the office of any dismissal changes.
🧣 Cold Weather Gear 🧤
The cooler weather is upon us! Please keep in mind that our students will continue to go outside for recess daily. If the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above, recess can take place outside. If the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (this includes factoring in the WINDCHILL), recess will be indoors. Students should always have appropriate clothing for the weather each day: Coat, boots, snow pants, hat, and gloves.
Also, please remember to label your child's cold-weather clothing. You will be so glad you did!
📚 News from our Librarian 📚
Mrs. Holzwarth has started an Instagram account where students will be sharing book reviews and recommendations. Fourth grade students have begun to submit their reviews, and other grades will learn how later in the year. Check it out!
