The Golf School District 67 Board of Education approved Dr. David Norman as the new principal of Golf Middle School during their regular meeting on Thursday, February 20, 2025, effective July 1, 2025. Dr. Norman brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership, student-centered initiatives, and community engagement to his new role.
“Dr. Norman’s passion for student achievement, collaborative leadership, and fostering a positive school culture stood out throughout the interview process,” said Superintendent Dr. Susan Coleman. “He has a track record of developing strong relationships with students, staff, and families while implementing strategies that drive academic success.”
Dr. Norman currently serves as the Division Head of Special Education at Buffalo Grove High School in Township High School District 214, where he has played a key role in staff development, IEP compliance, and enhancing student support systems. Before this, he served as principal of Herrick Middle School in Downers Grove School District 58, where he successfully implemented school improvement initiatives, advisory programs, and executive functioning supports. His leadership resulted in notable academic growth, and he played an instrumental role in facility planning and strategic development.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Norman held administrative positions at St. Charles North High School and Geneva Middle School North and worked as a special education teacher in West Aurora and Cary Grove High Schools. He holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, two master’s degrees in Educational Administration and Curriculum & Instruction, and a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Benedictine University.
