Managing Strong Feelings

Emotional development is a child’s ability to understand the feelings of others, manage their own feelings and behaviors and develop close relationships with peers. Creating a social-emotional foundation as a child will help the child thrive and be better equipped to handle stressful situations. In this workshop, parents will learn skills to teach their children how to identify and understand their feelings, manage strong emotions and express them in a constructive manner.

While parents attend the Managing Strong Feelings workshop, children ages 5-11 are invited to attend a life skills workshop. They will learn skills on how to understand and manage strong feelings.

Important Information For Families of Fifth Grade Students

It is time to look over your child's course verification form and determine if these are the course requests your child wants. This is not the official schedule. Now, families are able to electronically look at their children's course verification forms, revise them, and/ or approve them in PowerSchool. This is particularly important for those families who needed to make recent changes! The directions are below. (Paper forms are available upon request.)

Exciting New PowerSchool feature!

This year Course Verification Forms (CVFs) where parents/guardians verify or change 2023-2024 student course requests will be online! The first round of CVFs will go live in PowerSchool on Friday, March 17th at 8:00 am and will be closed on Friday, March 24th at 9:00 pm. Parents/Guardians should use the resources below to access student requests. Any changes should be made online using the form in PowerSchool. The final round of CVFs will happen in May. Also, please note that the FINAL deadline for all course changes is July 20, 2023, based on course availability.

Please be reminded that the next Flexible Learning Day is Friday, March 31st. Be on the look out for the Choice Board of activities during the week of March 27th that students will be required to complete to demonstrate their learning on that day.
