12th Grade News
It's here! Your GRADUATION year! Whoop! Class of 2025!!
Mid-year Reports will be sent out to all colleges you have applied to that are requesting the report in early February. Seniors do not need to request for this to happen.
Seniors who are looking for Scholarships-
Students and their families should check the scholarship bulletins linked below frequently for updates. The Financial Aid and Scholarship Database is updated by the county, while the GHS/Local Scholarships are opportunities for GHS students specifically.

11th Grade News
Juniors- Please have 7 course requests and 3 alternates in Synergy by 1/14.
Counselors can change course requests with you during the individual meetings from 1/24-2/10.
During these meetings we will go over potential release time, aiding and dual enrollment options.

JumpStart Dual Enrollment Opportunities and Process
HCPSS has an abundance of opportunities for students, including the dual-enrollment program, JumpStart, with Howard Community College (HCC). JumpStart provides students the opportunity to take classes either at their home high school or on the HCC campus for college credit. In this session, students will learn about the JumpStart program, the application process, transcript implications and how this experience can connect to students' post high school plans.

Standardized Testing: ACT, SAT, PSAT
Are you confused about standardized testing and how it fits with the shifting college admissions landscape? The Answer Class will help answer all your questions about how these important tests impact your child’s college application. This session includes 1) what test optional means and how students can use it to their advantage for college admissions and scholarships; 2) similarities and differences between the SAT & ACT; 3) explanation & updates on the new Digital SAT; and 4) ways to help your student decide which test better matches their strengths.

10th Grade News
ALL 10th graders- Please enter 7 course requests and 3 alternates in Synergy by 1/14. Counselors will be meeting with each student through Science classes 1/24-2/10. We can make any changes at that time.
