Congratulations to Educator of the Week Mrs.Hanson
Our school is beyond lucky to have Tami Hanson, a truly exceptional educator who puts students at the heart of everything she does as part of our school community! In the classroom, Mrs. Hanson is an expert at recognizing and meeting the unique needs of every learner, ensuring all students feel valued, supported, and challenged.
But her impact doesn’t stop there! Mrs. Hanson is a leader beyond the classroom, dedicating time and energy to initiatives that strengthen our school. Through PBIS, she helps create a positive, supportive environment where students feel safe and encouraged to thrive. At Kids Fit, she inspires students to stay active and build healthy habits for life.
Not only is Mrs. Hanson deeply committed to students, but she is also a trusted colleague, always willing to collaborate, share ideas, and support fellow educators. Her kindness, professionalism, and dedication make a lasting impact on both staff and students alike.
Mrs. Tami Hanson is an integral part of our school community. The passion, care, and leadership she brings to our school make a difference every single day, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our team.

DWS Celebrates the 100th Day & Spirit Week
Written by: Matthew & Ella (The DWS Newsletter Team)
With the February break here, the spirit team created a fun spirit week for us to celebrate. The 100th day of school occurred on Monday. Many people dressed like they were a hundred years old. Some people dressed head to toe, like grandmothers or grandfathers, with glasses, gray hair, a cane, or a walker. Some kids just grabbed a cane and maybe wore gray hair. Tuesday was “Tropical Tuesday” and people burst into school with Hawaiian outfits. Lots of people wore leis and t-shirts that had pineapples or tie-dye on them. Wednesday was “Inside Out Day”. People wore t-shirts, pants, and hoodies inside out. On Thursday people dressed from their favorite decade. You could see some hippies and rock stars roaming the hallways. Friday the hallways were filled with red, white, and pink in honor of Friendship Day. Shout out to the Spirit Team for making it a great week. Have a great vacation! :)

From Chaos to Calm: Supporting your student with Executive Functioning Challenges
All caregivers are invited to a special presentation on Monday, January 13th:
From Chaos to Calm: Supporting your student with Executive Functioning Challenges
When: Monday, January 13, 2025 at 6:30PM
Where: Seth Ventress Building, 76 South River St. (Next to Fire Station) on 2nd Floor
Presented by Deb Booth from Pilgrim Area Collaborative

Executive function is an umbrella term used to describe a set of cognitive processes necessary for emotional and behavioral control. In this workshop, participants will learn what executive functioning skills are and provide insight into their role in student learning and the impact difficulties in executive function (EF) skills have on school success. Oftentimes, students who appear “unmotivated” about schoolwork simply do not have the EF skills required to initiate, plan, organize and persist on school/homework tasks until completion. Parents and caregivers won't want to miss this interactive presentation that will help them gain a clearer picture of how to help their children become more successful and independent learners.
The last time this topic was presented it was a huge hit and all participants walked away with a toolbox for assisting their children and students. This presentation is something from which each of us can gain knowledge and ideas.
This will be presented by Deb Booth of PACES (Pilgrim Area Collaborative) and is brought to you by the Marshfield SEPAC (Special Education Parents Advisory Council).
