School Board Highlights

Celebrating Success
Half Day School Principal Jill Mau shared the works of a few Half Day students’ literature that won acclaim. One student’s story about his family won him national recognition in a book writing competition. Other students were recognized in a statewide writing competition.
Volunteer Appreciation Recognition
As part of Volunteer Appreciation Week, the Board recognized District 103’s parent organizations, the PTO and Learning Fund Foundation, for the countless hours they spend supporting staff, students, and parents.
Staffing Plan
The Board approved the district staffing plan for the 2024-2025 school year. The plan is created utilizing the current and projected enrollment, current programming, and future needs.
Strategic Plan Update
Dr. Scott Warren, D103 Superintendent, updated the board on the district’s five-year Strategic Plan. The plan outlines three goals:
Goals 1 and 2 were combined: Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Individualized Learning
Goal 3: Social Emotional Learning
Goal 4: Infrastructure
With the district midway through the five-year Strategic Plan, Dr. Warren shared with the Board how staff has attended professional development to incorporate the goals into curriculum and classroom lesson plans. He highlighted the district’s Facility Matrix that outlines building projects, technology advancements, and trends in Human Resources needs as well as curricular programming.
Board of Education Meeting
The next Board of Education meeting will occur at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7. The notice and agenda can be found on the District 103 Board meeting website page. D103 board meetings will be live-streamed each month on our YouTube Channel. Members of the community should attend the meeting at 111 Barclay Boulevard, Lincolnshire if they would like to make a public comment. The public can also contact the Board at board@d103.org.
