Hello Prosper Guard Family!

After a few snow days we're off to an awesome start for both the JV and Varsity Winter Guards!

Everyone's fees have been updated to your student's account. Please make sure you're making payments towards your student's fees. The Calendar Sponsorship information below is available for all of our students and families to utilize.

Please make sure you take a look at the "Recommended Winter Guard Items" for your student. Dancer knee pads are a must-have this season. Take a look below.

NTCA Prosper is our first competition of the season, and we're hosting the event! Parents, we need your help! Please see that information below.

On 2/14 (Valentine's Day) we have camp for both JV & Varsity that day with a break in between both rehearsals. After talking it over with some of the students, we would like to find a way to have a little Galentine's Celebration together. If we have a parent(s) that would like to help coordinate, please let me know.

Prosper Guard Parents:

We need some help coordinating meals for our guard students. We do have a small budget to work within, and I think we need to earmark those funds for meals on show days. Varsity and JV are traveling to shows together this year, so we can plan for meals for both teams. I think we need parent volunteers to plan and research what restaurants are located near our show sites, and coordinate pick up or delivery of meals.

For the rest of our camp dates, we need to look at meal planning. It would be great to have a parent volunteer to take the lead for each camp. One option we could look at is a potluck style meal where families volunteer to take care of an item that contributes to the meal. For example: taco dinner includes someone bringing cheese, someone else bringing the meat, someone else bringing the tortillas, etc. The girls love Olive Garden, so a pasta bar is a great option too. When all else fails, chic-fil-a, Jersey Mike's or Jimmy Johns, and pizza are always great options.

For both camp dates and show dates, we need help coordinating meals. If you are able to help, please send me an email and let me know.

For the next two weeks we have:

• 1/25 - Varsity Camp
• 1/31 - NTCA Prosper: JV & Varsity Meal
• 2/1 - Varsity Camp

Snack Wagon: With both JV and Varsity rehearsing right after school, we recommend that you have your student pack a snack to help fuel them through rehearsal. If you would like to donate to the snack wagon, that would be awesome! We have students with nut allergies, so we need to avoid any products with nuts.

Thank you in advance for your help getting this together! We want to make sure to fuel our athletes with healthy & filling food so they can perform at their highest level!

On Friday 1/31 we will perform in the Winter Sports Pep Rally (yes, the same day as our NTCA Show!). Winter Guard students will perform the fight song at the beginning of the pep rally - just like we did with our fall pep rallies. We'll wear our white sleeves, spirit dress, tights, and spirit sneakers. Hair needs to be half up half down, and makeup should be spirit makeup with the red lip.

Students: Before the pep rally, we will be taking our team pictures for the yearbook. So, it's really important to make sure you are following the guidelines above for what to wear and how to prep your hair and makeup. We will take a JV team photo and a varsity team photo. You will be dismissed at the beginning of 2nd/6th, just like in the fall, and we'll plan to get ready down in the locker room/Gym 2.

• Please make sure you have signed up to volunteer.
• Parents: If you're planning to volunteer for a specific job, but you have not signed up, we have no record that you are working that job. Please fill out the Signup Genius form. I am not coordinating the event this year, so we need to have all of the job slots filled in. Thank you!
• Also Parents: We will need lots of parking lot help this year, so if you have some cold weather gear, we need you!

• Bring your bike helmet!
• It's a good idea to bring your bike helmet for when we start working on intermediate to advanced tossing skills. Borrow your little brother's helmet if you don't have one! It'll keep your noggin protected!

For our new families, this fundraiser is one that is student/family motivated. This is totally optional, but is a great way to get family and friends involved with supporting our students, without the need of a large donation or purchase. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

• Please make sure you are up to date on all of your marching band fee payments. It is a requirement that either a payment plan or full payment of marching band fees is completed for a student to be able to participate in winter guard. • If your student ordered replacement items (leggings, jacket, etc) and you haven't paid for those items yet, you will see them added to your student's account in CutTime.
• Winter Guard Fees will be added to your student's account.
• Winter guard fees are $500 for both JV and Varsity Students.
• Varsity students will have an additional fee of $250 for our trip to WGI Tulsa, in March 2025.

Please make sure you have all of your student's winter guard dates on your calendar. There are JV and Varsity competitions over Spring Break. Competitions are considered test grades and are required for all students participating in winter guard. Please let me know if you have any question, thank you.
