Paint Night is tonight, and we are looking forward to a wonderful evening of fun with family and friends while creating a unique piece of art. Many thanks to Mrs. Kim, our amazing art teacher, for leading and sharing art techniques and to the PTA for making this event possible.

March is Reading Month! We are kicking off our month-long celebration with Read Across America Week Spirit Week from March 3rd- March 7th. Please see the image on the right to see how our students can join in each day to celebrate Reading Month. We can't wait to see our students show their reading spirit!

Online registration for kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year opened on Monday, February 3. Children who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2025 are eligible to register. Registration is online through the ParentVUE portal. For more information about eligibility and the registration process, visit the MCPS Kindergarten Enrollment website or contact our school office.

The 2025-2026 Change of School Assignment (COSA) transfer season opened on Monday, February 3, 2025. The COSA process allows families to submit a request for their children to transfer out of their assigned home school through the ParentVue portal in Synergy. All COSA request applications must be submitted no later than Tuesday, April 1, 2025. For detailed information, please click here.

The February Media Monthly reflects the lessons that all grade levels will continue to have in support of the CKLA curriculum. The Daily News, Music Cafe, and Book Club pages have also been updated to show the most recent news! Please note that we've shifted the dates of some of our events. Here is the updated media events calendar as of today. We now have published our March Book Madness bracket and we encourage our young readers to begin reading the book selections so they can make educated selections when the first two ballots come out March 3 and March 10, respectively. Each will only be open for submissions for five days. See if your readers can guess the guest readers for each title! I am incredibly proud of our first music cafe performers - we had our first performance yesterday and they were as professional as can be. It is a gift that we can share their talents with our students. Have a wonderful weekend!

Family Paint Night with the amazing Mrs. Kim is tonight! 100% of the proceeds will go to the CGES Art Program. Check-in begins at 6:00pm.

STEM NIGHT

When: March 21, 2025 @ 6:30pm

In addition to our Student Expo Showcase, there will be various stations set up to explore other areas of science as well as vendors demonstrating all the different parts that make up STEM!
