Ramadan Mubarak! We wish everyone celebrating and observing Ramadan a peaceful, healthy, and reflective month. Ramadan is a month-long period of prayer, fasting, and charity for our Muslim students, families, and staff. This year, Ramadan will be observed from March 10 through April 10. Upcoming Breaks and Days Off
Reminder: There is no school on Friday, March 29 for Good Friday. Schools will then be closed from April 1 to 5 due to Spring Recess. School will be in session for an early release day on Monday, April 8 due to the eclipse. School will be closed again on Wednesday, April 10 for Eid.
We’re excited to join in the experience that will be the total solar eclipse on April 8th. We have scheduled a half day of school in order to maintain the appropriate number of school days for our students. The students will be transported home well before traffic is expected to become problematic and we’re glad that they can start their day with instructional experiences before enjoying this unique celestial event. We’ll be just coming back from the spring recess and have a scheduled day off for a religious holiday during that same week, making a full day off problematic.

Driver & Traffic Safety Education (DTSE) in New York State is a course implemented via a partnership between the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The Driver Education course aims to educate current high school students (ages 16 or older) about appropriate driving skills and habits and taking a responsible role in the highway transportation/safety system. Course highlights include 24 hours of classroom instruction and 24 hours of behind-the-wheel training and observation (32 classes). Students who satisfactorily complete the course can receive the MV-285: Student Certificate of Completion.
