Congratulations on the completion of another school year. I hope you've scheduled plenty of time to rest and recharge. There was a lot happening in the courts this week! We excitedly watched the oral arguments for the lawsuit against Act 10 and we saw a certain someone be found guilty on all 34 counts. Here's more information on the lawsuit against Act 10 that kicked off this week.

Speaking of democracy, if you're interested in turning out the pro-public education vote this summer/fall and getting paid to do so we have positions available! Battleground Wisconsin is looking for union members to knock doors in Outagamie and Winnebago counties. The position offers a weekly travel stipend, a one-time phone stipend and $600 weekly for 20 hours per week. Interested? Please email me at Lytiek@weac.org!

Lastly, the summer is a great time to plan what you want your local union to accomplish in the upcoming school year. If you want to strategize with a director about how to increase your union's presence in your building, have questions about what you can and can't do, have questions about how other local unions have solved problems with their administrators or anything union related- we'd love to chat with you! Now is the perfect time to plan your New Hire Orientation event and welcome new employees to your union!
