Dear Parker Core Knowledge Community,
The minute I joined Parker Core Knowledge, I was immediately struck by the close-knit nature of this community and your dedication to the success of our students. It is clear that this commitment is a cornerstone of what makes PCK such an exceptional place.
PCK has a long-standing reputation for excellence, and I am honored to join this community as your new Director. Our school’s achievements are a testament to the hard work, passion, and collaboration of our students, parents, and staff. I am excited to work alongside our amazing staff to uphold and build upon this reputation, ensuring that every student at PCK continues to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.
As we embark on this new chapter together, I am eager to hear your thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for our school. Open communication and collaboration will be key to our continued success, and I encourage everyone to share their perspectives and get involved in our initiatives and volunteer opportunities.
I am committed to abiding by our new slogan for the upcoming school year, “Our next 30 years start now”. This reflects our devotion to honoring our school's rich history while continuing to innovate and evolve to meet the new opportunities and challenges of the future. Together, we will create a welcoming environment where each student can succeed and be prepared for the world beyond our doors.
Thank you for your warm welcome and for your ongoing support. I look forward to an exciting and successful year.
Warm regards,
Dr. Leanne Weyman
Director, PCK
Policy Reminders
To begin the year, here is the academic calendar, attendance policy, and dress code. Multiple changes were made to both the attendance and dress code policies at the end of last year, the most significant of these changes being for an additional allowed shoe color, and changes to the qualifications for perfect attendance.
The calendar includes dates for the first day of school, with variations by grade level, and our school breaks.
We know families are planning ahead and we kindly ask that you try to schedule family vacations that align with our pre-planned breaks. Review the attendance policy for student attendance information.
Before you shop for uniform pieces, review the Dress Code Policy. The updated dress code policy includes revised shoe requirements and other minor modifications.

Dean of Students
We are excited to announce that PCK is starting the 2024 school year with a renewed focus on student character development. As part of this initiative, Ms. Lisa Church has agreed to step into the role of Dean of Students. In this role Ms. Church will oversee culture development, student expectations, and of course, disciplinary consequences. We are grateful that Ms. Church has agreed to step into this critical leadership role as we work to level up our character development and expectations.
School Supplies
With the new school year right around the corner, it is crucial to review the list of class materials by grade for your student to ensure all necessary supplies have been purchased before the first day. Below you can access the list of school supplies needed for K-8 for the school year.
Lunch Reminders
During the school year PCK will provide free lunches for all students, regardless of whether or not they bring a lunch from home. Parents, please start the year off by packing a lunch for your child during the first few weeks to ensure they have enough food while we adjust to the supply and demand of the new school year. Every student is unique, and some may require additional nutrition. Additionally, please submit any dietary restrictions for students to DCSD seven business days before the school year begins.
Stay tuned for updates from the lunch room.
DIBELS Testing
DIBELS Testing will take place on August 12 & 13.
August 12
1st - 3rd Grade
August 13
1st - 2nd Grade
Sign-ups will be provided at our Open House on August 8.
Kindergarten DIBELS Testing will take place on a later date.
Carpool Information
This year we will continue to use North, South, West loops for the afternoon carpool to make a safer and more streamlined pick-up process.
Added just last year, the West loop will be specifically for 5th and 6th grade students, and will not affect the pick-up times or locations for any other students. Please see carpool loop details below.
Parents will need to register for the carpools as well, which can be done online.
Parents with students in multiple grades will need to enter into the carpool pick-up and drop-off line of their youngest student. This means that if you have students in Kindergarten and 3rd grade, both students would be dropped off/picked up in the North Loop. Older students float to youngest student in the carpool.
Additionally, staggered start will not impact drop-off and pick-up procedures for carpool. No matter what, families with multiple students will always use the carpool line of their youngest student, regardless of whether or not they attend school that day.
Students are never dropped off in the morning for West Loop. West Loop is only used for afternoon pick-up. Drop-off for 5th and 6th grade students will be in the South Loop.
This procedure will remain in place unless otherwise stated for the 2024-2025 year.
Health Room Reminders
Parents, please remember to bring any medications or documents your student may need to the Open House on August 8. On your Open House tour there will be a designated station for you to drop these items off with a PCK staff member.
Medical documents include but are not limited to -
- Authorization for appropriately trained staff to provide a student with Over the Counter Medications as required by Colorado law C.R.S. 12-255-132.
- Signed medical forms by both doctor and parent or guardian.
- State care plans.
- Any immunization updates or exemptions.
Open Positions
We are hiring for a few more positions for the 2024-2025 school year. Please help us find outstanding staff members to join our community. See all our open positions through the careers page of the PCK website.
Position Highlight
RECESS/LUNCH AIDE
If you're looking for a position that matches up with your student's hours and days off, PCK is looking for Recess and Lunch Aides for the 2024-2025 school year. The aide positions are perfect for a parent, grandparent, or guardian looking to be involved in supporting their student through the everyday operations at PCK. Responsibilities vary as a lunch or recess aide. Recess aides supervise students on the playground through the encouragement of safe and positive play. Lunch aides on the other hand will observe students in the lunchroom, and assist with cleaning tables and floors between lunch periods. Please contact Lunch and Recess Supervisor Erin Dobkin with any questions regarding these roles at edobkin@ckcs.net or (720) 982-9413.
