Notes from the Principal
Thank you to those who joined us either in person or via zoom for our first "Chat with the Principals" meeting on Thursday. We talked about the opening of the year, safety and security updates, field trips, and our efforts to improve the visual climate both inside and outside of the building.
We are looking forward to our first dance this coming Friday. Please be sure to review the information below, especially regarding the traffic pattern.
"Under the Sea" Fall Dance
Student Council is hosting the first dance of the school year. The “Under the Sea” dance will be held on Friday, September 27th from 7-9 PM at MSE. The dance is for students in grades 6, 7, and 8.
The cost of the dance is $5. All students attending the dance MUST pre-pay for the dance during lunch. Students will not be permitted to pay when they get to the dance. Students will need to present their student ID when paying as well as when entering the dance. Those without an ID will be able to purchase a ticket after the rest of the students go through the line. Students will be able to pay for the dance during lunch on one of the following days:
- Wednesday, September 25th
- Thursday, September 26th
- Friday, September 27th
Students will be able to have their picture taken with their friends at the dance. Pictures cost $1 for each person who wants a copy of the picture.
Please refer to pages 44 and 51 in the student handbook for attendance at extracurricular events and dance expectations.
Important Drop-Off and Pick-Up Information
Drop-Off:
- All students should be dropped off at the back entrance by the gym. Students should have their ID. Those without their ID will enter the dance after the rest of the students enter.
- All students must arrive by 7:15. Students who receive special permission from Mr. Maoury or Mr. Marsch may ask to arrive by 7:30. No students will be admitted after 7:30.
- Dances begin at 7PM. Students should not be let out of their cars until the dance chaperones signal they may do so.
- Any car that arrives before 6:50PM should park in the back parking lot and wait in order to prevent a back log on to Rt 73.
Pick-Up:
- Students will be dismissed out three entrances. When picking up students in multiple grade levels, please pick up at the highest grade level location.
- 8th grade will be picked up in the front loop.
- 7th grade will be picked up on the side tennis court lot.
- 6th grade will be picked up in the back by the gym.
ASHH IS BACK
After School Homework Help (ASHH) is back and beginning Wednesday, September 25th. The program will run Wednesdays and Thursdays through mid-May on "normal" school days (no Early Dismissal days).
ASHH is a time when students may stay after school and work on schoolwork from 2:40 to 3:45 PM every Wednesday and Thursday. The students will have supervision and academic support from several teachers: Mrs. Melchiorre, Mrs. Lutz, and Mr. Howard. Students must have transportation home at 3:45PM and will be dismissed to the front loop at the main office entrance/exit. Students do not need to sign up ahead of time, however they MUST make sure they have a ride home at 3:45PM. Students staying for ASHH report directly to room 321 when second run buses dismiss at the 2:40 PM bell.

Spirit Day- September 27
Student Council is hosting a Beach Spirit Day on Friday, September 27th. Students should come dressed in their best beach day attire. Students are not permitted to wear swim shorts, swimsuits. sunglasses, hats, or face paint. The normal dress code still applies. Homeroom teachers will be choosing the most spirited student in each homeroom to be entered into a raffle to win a prize!

6th Grade Field Trip
See You at the Pole -September 25
The annual See You at the Pole™ event will be held on Wednesday, September 25 at 7AM at the flagpole out front of our school.
See You at the Pole™, the global day of student prayer, began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Decades later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September.
See You at the Pole™ is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. See You at the Pole™ is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.
School Picture Retakes
Students who missed Pciture Day or need a retake will be able to do so on Thursday, September 26. Students who are having a retake should bring their old pictures with them to give to the photographer if they previously recieved pictures.

BASH will be hosting a FREE seminar called Guiding the College-Bound Athlete” on Wednesday, 9/25 at 7pm in the Senior High LGI. Please see the flyer for details.
