Student PBIS team
"The CAM Academy PBIS Team is looking for student members to join in helping to make decisions and providing input on our Positive Interventions and Supports Team. Last year we had a high school student representative. This year we will open it up to all grades. We are Looking for a student or students that would like to contribute and be a part of this team. Please click the link below to apply to this position. Application deadline is Friday November 22nd. Students that are selected will be notified by December 6th. First meeting will be on Wednesday December 11th."
We are excited to announce an opportunity for our students to practice gratitude this November, as it is our character trait of the month. To encourage this practice, students will have access to blank thank you notes that they can fill out to express their appreciation for acts of kindness in our school community.
Students can find these blank notes in the front office or in Mrs. McCann's office. Once they have completed their notes, they can return them to either of these locations for preview. After being reviewed, the notes will be posted in the Commons/cafeteria for everyone to appreciate.
Here are some simple steps on how to write a thank you note:
Start with a Greeting: Encourage your child to begin their note with a friendly greeting, such as "Dear" followed by the person's name (e.g., "Dear Ms. Johnson" or "Dear Jake").
Express Your Thanks: Have them clearly state what they are thankful for in the first sentence. For example, "Thank you for helping me with my math homework!" or "I appreciate you standing up for me during recess."
Add Specific Details: Remind them to share a specific detail about the act of kindness, such as how it made them feel or how it helped them. For instance, "Your encouragement made me feel more confident during my presentation!" or "I was really happy when you shared your lunch with me."
Close with Kindness: Finally, encourage them to end their note with a warm closing, such as "Sincerely," "Thanks again," or "With gratitude," followed by their name.
We believe that encouraging gratitude not only strengthens our school community but also fosters positive relationships among students and staff.
