Bobcats - A is for Attendance
Good evening Beck Community,
September is Attendance Awareness Month
We all know that life can get busy, and there are days when it might be tempting to let your middle schooler stay home. But did you know that even missing just a couple of days each month can add up? Students who are frequently absent can fall behind, and by the time they hit high school, this can become a major roadblock to achieving their dreams. Regular attendance helps kids stay on track with their learning, connect with friends, and build good habits that last a lifetime. Plus, being present every day means they won't miss out on those important moments and activities that make school a special place.
If your child wakes up feeling a bit under the weather and you're unsure about sending them to school, remember that our school nurse is here to help. Your student can always head to the nurse's office to see if they need to go home or if they're okay to stay. It's all about keeping the routine of going to school every day. This consistency not only helps with their academics but also instills a sense of responsibility and commitment. We're here to support you and your child in making sure they have the best school experience possible!
We are proud to report that from September 3-September 29, Beck students had a 93.6% attendance rate! And Grade 6 is leading the way with the lowest number of absences and tardy arrivals.
Thank you to all of the parent/guardians/carpools etc who are getting students to school on-time! Our Drop-Off line is clear by 8:05am each morning. Keep up the good work!
If you have questions about your student's attendance or the District Attendance Policies, please reach out to your grade level counselor or administrator.
Need to report your student's absence, late arrival or early dismissal? Please email Beckattendance@chclc.org.
All the Best,
