Using SEL & Literacy Practices To Support the Whole Child

For all K-5 teachers in Marquette & Alger Counties
Session Outcomes
Participants will:
-increase their knowledge and understanding of how integrating social-emotional learning (SEL) practices daily, fosters a calm classroom community.
-acquire strategies, resources, and tools for incorporating the SEL competencies (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making) along with literacy essentials that strengthen academic learning while cultivating empathy, self-awareness, and respect.
-participate in the TRAILS Social and Emotional Learning Curriculum training and gain access to 5 units and 20 lessons that supports students in building healthy relationships, managing strong emotions, and making caring, responsible decisions.

Session Information
- 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Coffee and refreshments will be provided
- All sessions will start at 9:00 a.m. and end by 4:00 p.m. at Marquette-Alger RESA.
- Lunch is provided.
- SCECHs are available.
- Substitute costs are the responsibility of the school district.
- Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop/iPad to each session.
