How did the music reflect society's perspective on the Cold War dealing with communism?
Bob Dylan
-Throughout his song, Masters of War, Dylan really shows his frustration against the arm makers and traders. Being that they are the cause of a war that cannot be won as well as bring sorrow and hate.
Billy Joel
-The topics were something that all americans could connect to since they were going through it all together, which had brought feelings out to the public from his songs.
-Billy had wanted to create music that would mean something during his time and time afterward it was over
Sting
-He brings up how similar both countries are because both are afraid of the nuclear war, each leader threatens the other with.
-He sheds light on the fact that the Russians and Americans should think about their children then maybe they'd stop to think about their children's future. That nuclear war is not the answer.
Lulu Belle & Scotty
-Resulting from the red scare of communist as well as the HUAC hearing in 1950 & 1951, the couple had criticised communism and promote the anti communist views that had been expected as Americans.
-They had wanted to stay loyal to America as well as point out all drastic events that had created the Cold War.
