Milford's Building Blocks:
The ABCs & 123s of MSD
Message to Families
Milford School District Families,
We would like to thank our families for your support in helping us start the new school year. Your assistance and patience in helping us establish new routines and habits helps us build on the importance of learning each day. These formative building blocks help us build a successful year ahead. With this cooperation, we are able to focus our energy on the critical work of teaching and learning each day.
We are excited to share the progress of our Milford Middle School project, which remains on time and under budget. Expected to open in August 2025 for our district 5th and 6th grade students, we continue to eagerly watch the construction project take shape as we build a strong future for our community upon our historical foundation. We are exceedingly proud of the history that has been preserved within the original building and the fact that we have been able to continue this project with zero impact on local taxes.
This week we welcome October and the tradition of our Milford Homecoming. We extend a warm invitation to all members of our school community in joining us for our spirit week, parade, and home football game. Come out and join us in celebrating our Buc Pride!
Respectfully,
Milford School District Administrative Team

Daniel Shockley, Class of 2019
Daniel Shockley, Milford Class of 2019, was recently featured in the Fall 2024 Issue of Delaware Tech Magazine. Mr. Shockley is now a 4th grade teacher at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School. We love 'growing our own'!
“Milford’s my home, and nothing makes me happier than to give back and teach the kids in my community, seeing them grow. When I walk into my classroom, it just makes me feel happy that I chose the teaching career.” - Daniel Shockley

Acts of Kindness
Random acts of kindness in students help foster empathy, build positive relationships, and create a supportive learning environment, enhancing both individual well-being and a sense of community. These small gestures encourage respect and can significantly improve the overall atmosphere in schools. Something as easy as greeting your bus driver, teacher, MSD staff, or friends each day serves as an example for others that help foster kindness, connection, and community spirit.
