Our first Winter Reading Challenge using Beanstack opens today! Beanstack is a digital reading app that helps students foster a love of reading. Students choose their books, build a reading log, grow reading streaks, and work to meet their reading goals. After logging in to Beanstack through Clever or on the mobile app (available on both Apple and Android), students will be able to log their reading minutes and earn virtual badges and prizes. While students can begin logging minutes today, the official kickoff for the challenge won't be until winter break. We're encouraging students to read 15-20 minutes every day during the break (excluding a few holidays) or a total of 300 minutes. Everyone who completes this challenge will snag a prize during the week of January 8th. Each school also has a collective goal for total minutes read, so let's dive into those books and hit that target!

This is a friendly reminder to parents that our school day starts at 8:35am. This means children should be in their classrooms as many teachers are beginning their important work with students at 8:35am. If you are dropping your child off, please be cognizant that staff must return into the building at 8:35am as their work with students starts at that time. If your child(ren) are exiting the car after 8:35am, we kindly request that you come in to sign them in. We appreciate your partnership in setting your children up for a successful day of learning at Troy Hofer from the very start of their day!

As we take a short break from our school home for Christmas/Winter Holiday, we want to express how JOLLY we are for our school community who are dedicated to assure our students come to school every day, on time, prepared and confidently ready to learn

We appreciate everyone’s efforts to avoid taking extra time off during the winter break. As long as your child is healthy, please encourage being PRESENT when school is in session.

A Hofer school day is an important opportunity for Hofer students to learn, as well as to connect to their peers and teachers.

We are JOLLY when:

Please note, a few missed days here and there, even excused absences, can add up to lost learning time leaving your child less confident in his or her learning. This is as true in kindergarten as it is in high school.
