The school year is starting to wrap up, so many exciting events are happening.

As we approach the end of the school year, please remember to take a look at your students' grades and follow up with their teachers if you have any questions or concerns. If you have any questions about students' on-track progress, please reach out to their grade-level counselor.

We have over 50 Sentinels volunteer for Day of Champions on Thursday. Thank you to all the supporters who helped make this event possible for our Steilacoom Historical School District students.

On Wednesday, 6 Juniors were celebrated at Washington High School for their remarkable achievement-the Outstanding Junior Award, a prestigious recognition organized by the South Puget Sound League Principals.

Congratulations to Eva Clapp, Seth Tchobanoff (Not Pictured), Jack Marchant, Jaiden Pham, Emily Owen, Rachel Crow.

We got to celebrate our Summa Cum Laude students at a special reception on Tuesday Night. We are so proud of these students' hard work at SHS and of hearing from their teachers about the fine young men and women they are.

Congratulations to Nora Agosto-Sungino, Jasmin Contreras, Elijah Ford, Faith Grant, Dominic Quatrini, Danica Raymundo, Reece Rozsnyai, Kathryn Stafford, Luke Tchobanoff, and Lola Cordero.

Reminder, all attendees for the graduation ceremony must have a ticket. If you are in need of additional tickets please fill out this form.

Reminder Graduation tickets will be disbursed to Seniors at the graduation rehearsal.

Seniors who would like to select their walking partner will need to see Mrs. James by May 31st. Both parties will need to be present in order to sign up.

Cap decoration and regalia must be approved by May 31st.

Juniors and seniors may purchase prom admission for $65.00 per person for themselves and a guest.

All fines must first be cleared before purchasing a prom ticket.

Tuesday, May 28th - The deadline to submit the completed guest pass is before noon this Tuesday, 5/28. Guest passes for non-SHS guests may be picked up at the front desk before school and during student lunches. Guests must have a Student ID or a form of ID on them at entry.

Thursday, May 30th - The deadline to buy tickets is Thursday, May 30th, at the bookkeeper's office during student lunches or online until midnight.

NO TICKET PURCHASES ON FRIDAY, MAY 31ST, OR AT THE DOOR.

SHS Students ​must have ASB or Student ID to enter the Dance.

Our high school administrative team is excited to announce that Robert Crawford has been named the fifth boys basketball head coach in school history pending school board approval. Coach Crawford has been prolific in the world of Pierce County high school basketball. He was a guard on back-to-back 4A state championship teams at Lincoln High School in 2001 and 2002, and continued his playing career at TCC. As an assistant coach he helped guide Chief Leschi to the state tournament, and has most recently been an assistant varsity coach and head JV coach at his alma mater.

We are thrilled to welcome Coach Crawford to Steilacoom High School. Throughout the interview process we came to learn that Robert has both a skill for teaching the game, and also a passion for developing young men of character. We are grateful to have had such a skilled, experienced, and helpful team leading our interview process. Our team included multiple basketball players, current varsity coaches, and the winningest head coach in school history, Mr. Gary Wusterbarth. Coach Crawford will begin communicating with our students and families about our summer programs soon.

This summer we have a partnership with PCSC for summer school. Please note, Students who attended PCSC Summer School must provided there own transportation and students are responsible for their own lunch, as SHS does not provide lunch or transportation for summer school.
