Complete 2024-2025 Vermilion 4-H Calendar
4-H has something for EVERYONE!!
Welcome to the Wonderful World of 4-H! We are proud to be the largest positive youth development organization in the country. It is open to students who are ages 9-19 as of January 1, 2025. In 4‑H, members complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture, and civic engagement in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult leaders and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles.
This club is NOT just for kids who show livestock animals. Project areas range from environmental science to art and include everything in between. Livestock is just a fraction of what 4-H has to offer. Our broad range of projects can be found on the back of the enrollment card – check it out to see what project areas interest you!

4-H Sewing Clubs!
Sewing Project Club! - Parent Meeting for Interested Members - September 25 @ 6 pm
Sewing Project Club – just as the name suggests, will be project based sewing. This group is set up to teach beginner and intermediate sewing skills. This group will have a monthly lesson, and will complete projects that relate to the lesson. They will complete a project for the clothing contest in March, but all group members will work on the same, or at least similar style project, since they will be learning alongside the entire group.
Clothing Construction Class - This group is set up for students who have already mastered basic sewing. Students will learn more independently, and will explore more advanced techniques. To be eligible for this class, students must either have been a member of the sewing project club for two years, or must successfully pass a skill assessment. This test is designed to confirm student’s abilities in the following areas:
1. Identify and use basic sewing notions
2. Be familiar with and exhibit proper use of sewing machine parts
3. Correctly thread a sewing machine
4. Complete a stitching assessment
5. Have experience sewing with a pattern
Members who have their own sewing machine will be asked to bring it each month. We have 15 sewing machines at the 4-H office and those will be loaned to members who do not have a machine. They will not be allowed to take them home, but will use them at the 4-H office during the class time. The first 15 members who register and request to borrow a machine will get that option. Mrs. Madlyn Zaunbrecher will lead both groups. Register by clicking the link below.
Cost - $30 per member due at first meeting
First Meeting will be in October - members who register will receive an email.
