AP Scores (again) from the Registrar's Office
- Some AP scores have been received, but many still remain to be received and recorded by UGA. The published date on the AP website for Georgia is next Friday, July 17.
- There are delays in the release of AP scores this year, which is a departure from the normal practice.
- UGA will post AP scores as they are received, and students can monitor the receipt of their scores in Athena.
- More information concerning the 2020 AP score release dates can be found on the College Board website at https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores/#:~:text=2020%20AP%20Exam%20scores%20will,prepared%20to%20get%20your%20scores.
Fall Reopening Information and Updates
Phase III Return to Campus
- We have a date for our return in August, and it's August 10th. Feel free to move stuff back in prior to that time.
- Word has it that parking gates are open during evenings and weekends if that would be helpful.
- Also be mindful that the Graduate School is in the process of moving into Brooks as well, so there may be boxes in the halls you'll need to work around.
- As a reminder, if you're going to need a camera for your desktop, please reach out to Jon so he can order it for you.
- If you need access to wheelie carts or help in other ways, let Jon know.
Information from SGA
- SGA created and distributed a survey to the student body to gather their perspective about returning to campus this fall. SGA has analyzed and aggregated the 6,000+ responses and created an infographic that we wanted to share..
- Survey results are attached to this email.
Reminder for students with a high-risk health condition
- Students with high-risk health conditions should contact the DRC to apply for ADA accommodations.
Fall Classes and Student Questions
As with all things these days, the information below is what we know now, and is subject to change.
- Due to social distancing requirements in classrooms, most classes will be taught in a hybrid form (called "hyflex") that includes both face-to-face and online elements.
- Students will, however, be required to attend some component of the class in person. In addition, we believe all FYO classes will be taught in person.
- When an in-person class offers multiple sections, departments may (with the Provost's approval) be allowed to designate one section as fully online, but in that case the section would be POD and preference would be given to students with an approved ADA accommodation that allows them to take their classes entirely online. Students who want to apply for an ADA accommodation can do so through the Disability Resource Center.
- For students without an accommodation, the only way to have only online classes is to find enough “e” courses to fill up their schedule, which will be challenging. Under a directive of the USG, UGA isn't allowed to offer any more online courses this fall than they do in any typical fall.
Seats Updates
FYOS Seats
- Due to social distancing restrictions, the FYOS Office is looking at the possibility of capping FYOS enrollment at below 15 students. No final decision has been made yet. I'll let you know what we find out as this develops.

Information for Advisors
Non-credit Internship Activities
Non-credit internship activities fall into two categories:
1) Those that may be processed as Experiential Learning Internships with the EL Office
2) Those that cannot be processed as such and should be proposed to Franklin College
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING INTERNSHIPS (non-credit)
The student is working as a paid intern at a for-profit company, or
The student is working as a paid or unpaid intern at a non-profit
There is a process that Karen Saunders (ksaunders@uga.edu) will walk the student through for these types of non-credit internships. (LINK TO THE EL INTERNSHIPS PAGE: https://el.uga.edu/about/el-internship-program/)
ALL OTHER NON-CREDIT INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCES
Students planning non-credit internships that do not meet one of the two criteria above should, before the internship is scheduled to begin, complete the a Franklin Proposal to have the non-credit internship activity (with a UGA Activity Supervisor’s guidance and signature) approved by Dean Kagel for the semester in which the student has plans to start the internship.
