Three Weeks Remain--15 Days!!!

Greetings TLC Families. I hope you had a restful and fulfilling Thanksgiving holiday.

We only have three weeks remaining (15 days) in the Fall Semester. Remember, grades will be finalized at the conclusion of this semester (December 20th). If a student fails a course at the end of the semester, they will most likely need to recover these credits in order to graduate on time. We need your help. Please check Infinite Campus on a regular basis and have conversations with your student. If you are struggling and need help, reach out to your student's Advisory teacher. If you don't have access to Infinite Campus please use this link to get access or call the district tech help desk at 859-422-5555.

Also, please note that we offer ESS (Extended School Services) for academic help on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-5:30. Please email Ms. Jamill Smith, our ESS Coordinator, at jamill.smith@fayette.kyschools.us or call 859-422-1446 during school hours. We do not provide transportation for ESS, but we can provide Lextran bus passes if needed.

Our Fall Finals will be from December 16th through December 19th. Students will be presenting their digital portfolios through Google Sites in each of their classes according to the following schedule: Fall Final Schedule. On December 20th, we will have a Community Portfolio Evaluation at TLC from 9:30-11:30 and 1:00-3:00. During these times, parents and members of the community will work with individual students to offer feedback on their portfolios. Please check the important dates below for more upcoming events at TLC. We have one Working Wednesday left in the semester on December 11th. Winter Break is December 23rd to January 6th. Students will return for the start of the Spring Semester on Tuesday January 7th.

In anticipation of the holiday season, our Student Leadership team was inspired to unit TLC students behind a common cause, while making a difference in the Lexington Community. We have partnered with Lighthouse Ministries to collect hygiene products for families in needs. Students will be brining in products and donating through our Advisories. Please support in any way that you are able.

October Student of the Month

Erin Ueda is a junior and this is her third year at TLC. Erin is a leader in every aspect at TLC. Academically, she has a perfect GPA and is currently taking multiple classes at BCTC. Socially, Erin is a member of our Student Leadership team and always steps up to plan and organize events. Erin make a difference each day at TLC and we are so happy she is part of the TLC family.

October Staff Member of the Month

Mr. Bugg is a custodian at TLC. He has been a custodian with Fayette County Public Schools for 27 years, 16 of those years at TLC. Mr. Bugg is know for working hard to keep our building clean, but more importantly, he always takes the time to connect with students, specifically making them laugh at lunch. We appreciate all that you do Mr. Bugg.

TLC School Improvement Update

Here are our goals for the 24-25 school year:

ATTENDANCE--We want every student to have a minimum of 85% attendance for the entire school year.

ACADEMIC GROWTH--We want every student to pass all of their classes.

LIFE READINESS--We want every student to meet the requirement for post secondary readiness according to the Kentucky Department of Education.
