COUNSELOR'S CORNER
SPRING ALLERGIES
With the weather changing and warmer temperatures creeping up, it may be time to consider starting allergy routines if your student struggles with seasonal allergies. Starting a daily antihistamine (example: zyrtec, claritin, xyzal) to help combat allergies may benefit your child from suffering with the intense symptoms such as itchy/watery/red eyes, sneezing, nasal drainage, nasal congestion, cough, skin changes such as rashes or eczema. We do not keep any allergy medication in the health office, this is to be given at home. If for some reason you would like to keep allergy medication at school for your student we will need an over the counter medication consent form filled out and a new unopened, unexpired bottle of the medication and will need to know if the student forgot to take it that day as most of these are one per 24 hours. Also as a reminder if your child has a prescription medication we will need a medication authorization filled out by you and your child's doctor! Both of these forms can be found on the website!
