Creating a Culture of Thinking
Adam Scher visited Troy Union again to support our growth as a Culture of Thinking, bringing valuable insights and strategies to enhance our educational practices. Through his guidance, we explored Cultural Forces that can positively influence thinking and learning, empowering us to create a more thoughtful and dynamic school environment.
Troy Unified Bowling
Troy Union proudly partnered with Barnard and Morse Elementary Schools for an inspiring Unified Bowling event in collaboration with Special Olympics. As part of a district-wide cohort, students came together to celebrate inclusion, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This meaningful initiative will culminate with a district-wide outing in the spring, bringing even more schools together to continue fostering unity and connection across our community.
Troy Union Partnering to Support Families in Need
We are grateful to ACC (America’s Community Council) for their generous support of Troy Union families. A special thank you to Mrs. Alexander for her compassionate coordination of resources, ensuring help reaches those who need it most. Your care and teamwork make our school community stronger!
Principal and Assistant Principal of the Day
Troy Union had some very special leaders in charge! Lukas from Mrs. Herbert’s class served as Principal of the Day, and Ethan from Mrs. Fox’s class stepped in as Assistant Principal of the Day. These honors were earned through their Fun Run donation milestone drawing.
Our new “administrators” embraced their roles with enthusiasm, making important decisions like giving students extra recess and even making a visit to Top Golf. It truly was a fantastic day, filled with fun and leadership! Thank you, Lukas and Ethan, for helping make Troy Union an even more exciting place to be!
Troy Union Earns HEARTSafe Designation
Troy Union Elementary is proud to have earned the MI HEARTSafe School designation, recognizing our commitment to cardiac preparedness and the safety of our community. This prestigious award highlights schools that are ready to respond to cardiac emergencies, ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, and families.
MLK Day Creative Contest
TSD students are invited to participate in the upcoming MLK Day Creative Contest! Reflect on a time when you made a positive difference in your community and consider how that experience impacted both you and those around you. Share your reflection through a video, essay, poem, or a portfolio of visual artwork.

Donate Gently Worn Sneakers
All donations will go to support the figure skaters of Dream Detroit Skating Club, Inc. DDSC is a 501c3. Our goal is to be able to subsidize some of our skaters skating costs which include coaching, equipment, and competition fees. Drop Off / Pick Up Procedures
When dropping off your child please only park in designated spaces.
Each school day over 400 students arrive and depart from Troy Union. Our arrival and dismissal procedures have been implemented and refined to ensure the safety of our students, staff and community. Please read the following very carefully as some procedures have been modified. We ask for your patience as we strive to create a safe and efficient environment for our students during arrival and dismissal.
To ensure the safety of all, students and families should not congregate outside the school and it is important that you do NOT drop your child off at school until 8:33 at the earliest. If you arrive early then families should stay in their car. Students should not lineup outside their entrance.
