Jim Ned Intermediate News
August 27th, 2023
Keeping you updated on the latest and greatest from JNI!
Lots of learning is already taking place at Jim Ned Intermediate. It was great to see students checking out books from the library and using our collaborative spaces to work on assignments and group work this week!
It's always a great day to be a Jim Ned Indian!

Student Talks in PE
Mrs. Corbin met with all students this last week during their PE time to review a few school expectations.
- Dress Code: Students helped to remind each other about some of our frequent dress code tips. Shorts need to be appropriate length for both boys and girls. Leggings are appropriate when shirts are long enough and shirts are too short when skin is showing. Boys had three points of reference for hair; eyebrows, ears and collars. We also reminded everyone of appropriate foot wear so that they could participate in PE daily. If students are out of dress code, they will be asked to call home or change.
- Recess and Sportsmanship: While we are still working on gaining more equipment for our recess area (thank you parents who have already donated to that cause!), we reminded students to use good sportsmanship while out in our play areas!
- Everyday Behavior: We were reminded of daily behavior and interactions with other students and staff. Being respectful when speaking to others. Using appropriate language and having appropriate conversations. Picking up after themselves when in the cafeteria, bathrooms and around the building.
Morning Drop Off and Dismissal
Thank you for being patient and helping us get more of our routines going for morning drop off and dismissal!
Reminders for Morning Drop Off - Please pull up when dropping students off in the morning to allow for more students to exit vehicles at a time. This helps to keep our traffic build up to a minimum in the mornings. When leaving morning drop off, please follow the directional signs and exit to the north (left) from the drop off line.
Reminders for Dismissal: Please continue to enter through our turn lane at the northwest entrance. Vehicles trying to enter from the opposite direction, or trying to bypass the turn lane are stopping the flow of traffic and causing concerns for our buses and others trying to get through.
*Please remember all parent drop off and pick up is done on the north side of the building (the back). If you are picking your student up early, they need to be picked up before 3:30. If buses are present when you pick up your student, you will be asked to wait until they have left. This if for the safety of all.
Bus Riders and Expectations
Please communicate with your student and their teacher if their way of getting home changes. We try and have all notes delivered by 3:00pm each day.
If your student is a bus rider, please continue to remind them of their behavior while on the bus. We want to keep everyone safe. Behavior concerns on the bus are reported back to student's home campus and consequences will be given. After their second bus offense, a student will be suspended from riding the bus for a period of time.
