January's Character Strong focus is Perseverance!
We are looking forward to focusing on Perseverance this month! One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important to develop tools that help us work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up. If you want to learn more about Perseverance, click on the Perseverance Family Letter below.
Lost and Found
RISE Mentoring
January is National Mentoring Month and we would like to thank all
of the RISE mentors that give of their time each week to meet with
and build relationship with our students. Our students love
meeting with their RISE mentor and it means so much to the
parents and to the staff to know that our kids have another positive
adult supporting them.
If you would like to learn more about RISE Mentoring, CLICK HERE to visit the website. There is always a need for more mentors to
meet the high demand of kids wanting and waiting to be matched.
If you are interested in becoming a RISE mentor or would like to
see about signing your child up to be matched with a RISE mentor

Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Arrival Car
- Pull all the way forward to the staff member by the columns to keep the line moving.
- Remain in a single line all the way through the driveway.
- Do not pass other cars in the drop-off line.
- All students must get dropped off by driving the line. Parents may not drop off in the parking lot or walk students up to the building.
- Seat your school-aged child(ren) on the passenger side for unloading.
- Have your child(ren) ready with all their belongings and teach them to get out of the vehicle independently. Encourage them to open the door and exit if they are able.
- If your child needs assistance or cannot open the door, please roll down the window and let a staff member know so that we may assist.
Changes to How Your Child Goes Home
If you are changing the way your child goes home, please send a hand-written note to school with your child. Please do not email your child’s teacher with transportation changes, as teachers do not check their email during instructional time. You may call the school if advance notice is not possible. All notice of transportation changes must be given before 2:30 pm.
Student Check-out
Students may not be checked out after 3:00 pm. The left lane in the front driveway must be kept open until 3:00 pm for access to the building.
Lunch Visitor Information
We appreciate our family lunch visitors! Please remember our tips and simple requests:
- Lunch visitors will eat with their child in the Visitor room.
- All visitors will check in at the front reception desk with a valid photo ID.
- The check-in process will be a little slow at first, so we suggest that you arrive early to ensure that you are ready at your child's lunch time.
- Once you have been checked in, we ask that you wait in the front vestibule until your child's lunch time.
- Visitors are welcome to bring in lunch for themselves and their Maverick.
- If the student needs to buy their lunch from the cafeteria , they will get their lunch from the cafeteria line and meet their lunch guest in the Visitor room.
- When lunch is over, your child's teacher will stop by the Visitor room to signal that it is time to say your goodbyes. At that time, your child will join their class lunch table and you will make your way to the front exit.
Lunch Visitor Reminders:
- We ask that lunch visitors refrain from taking additional students to the Visitor room.
- We also ask that lunch visitors refrain from buying/giving food to a student that is not your child for safety reasons and that you refrain from taking photos or videos of students that are not your child.
- Please say your goodbyes in the cafeteria at the end of your child's lunch time.
- Visitors will not walk back to the classroom with the class, but should report directly to the front exit, and turn in the visitor badge.
