Midway!
Greetings Webber Elementary Parents and Students,
The week began with some unexpected power interruptions. As you can imagine, the lack of electrical power, phones, and internet created some substantial challenges for both teachers and students. We persevered! Truly, I was so impressed with the flexibility and ability that our kids and staff demonstrated.
We have broached the midpoint of the school year! Teachers have been diligently administering middle of the year assessments, collecting evidence of student learning. The progress our students have yielded - relative the the start of the year - has been impressive. Just a reminder that next Friday, February 7, report cards will be distributed.
The Webber PTO is hosting a meeting on Wednesday, February 5, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Media Center. Items of discussion include the upcoming Silent Disco, Discovery Fair, and annual Fun Run. We hope to see you in attendance.
A big thank you to all of our Webber students who participated in this year’s district Martin Luther King Jr. Contest. We had so many incredible entries, making the judging process a challenge! Congratulations to our Webber winners: From K - 2nd grade: Sara Lemus Avalos (Art) and Lily Nolan (Multimedia). From 3rd - 5th grade: Hyuna Kim (Art), Sophie Palli (Essay), Melia Mela Vitkovski (Poetry), and Angela Garbuzov (Multimedia). Well done!
Have a wonderful weekend and GO DRAGONS!

Staff Recognition - Distinguished Dragon
Throughout the school year, if you would like to recognize a staff member from Webber, we encourage you to submit a Distinguished Dragon nomination. The intent of the Distinguished Dragon program is to ensure that staff members who go above and beyond their regular duties are appreciated. The additional effort or support can range from helping an individual to helping a group or any effort that seems worthy of praise.
The staff member can be nominated by a student, parent, community member or a colleague by completing the form at LakeOrionSchools.org/DistinguishedDragon. We ask for the submitter's name and contact information to follow up with specific questions if necessary. Please make sure to select the appropriate school/department form so the message is routed in the proper direction.
Please complete the form entirely so the individual can be appropriately honored for their contributions.
