Our Learning Community...
Thank you so much for your generous donations to our APEX Jog-A-Thon! The funds we raise directly support our learners and your support truly makes a difference! We understand that not every family may have the capacity to donate at this time, and please know, your support in every form is deeply appreciated. We also recognize that there may be loved ones near and far or businesses looking for meaningful ways to support public education, especially a community like ours at Jones. Thank you for sharing the Jog-A-Thon link and information with your circle of influence. Every share, every connection, and every bit of support helps lift up our learners.
We would love to have you join us this Thursday, April 24th to cheer on our students during the Jog-A-Thon!
- 8:00 am 3rd Grade -5th Grade
- 9:00 am Preschool - 2nd Grade
Then come back between 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 pm for our Spring Showcase of Learning that evening! You will get to experience the incredible work our students have done throughout the year, with highlights displayed in classrooms, interactive IMPACT stations on the blacktop, and an Art Museum exhibit in the library. It is going to be an amazing evening!
Also, don’t forget... April 22nd is the last day to order a yearbook and have it delivered to Jones this school year. Please see the flyer below for details.
Be A Pro And Always Go...
For the final four weeks of the Padres Attendance Challenge, any student who is here every day will be entered into a weekly drawing on Monday morning! Selected students will win prizes including Padres tickets, Seaworld tickets, and Manny Machado mini posters. Thank you to the San Diego Padres and San Diego Unified for donating the prizes to our site!
Highlights from Last Week...
APEX Jog-A-Thon Pep Rally!
Student vs. Principal!
Our 5th grader was the big winner at velcro darts/soccer kick against Mrs. Buell!
The APEX team is here this past week and next leading Leadership lessons with classrooms
Monthly teacher and paraeducator professional development plays a vital role in strengthening our school community by providing time to collaborate, reflect, and grow as continuous learners together.
This year, our focus has been on developing student leadership and goal-setting practices, while also deepening mathematical understanding, especially in tackling single- and multi-step word problems.
These ongoing learning opportunities help us align our practices, learn and be inspired by each other's strengths, and ensure all students are supported in reaching their full potential.
The La Jolla Playhouse's 2025 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour visited the Jones auditorium to present their original short play, The Weather Busters of Beachcastle, to our 3rd–5th grade students.
This imaginative production follows 12-year-old Jayce and their tech-savvy best friend, Kori, as they team up with a mysterious explorer to confront bizarre weather patterns threatening their coastal town.
Together, they embark on a journey that blends curiosity with courage, uncovering their power to make a meaningful difference.
This engaging performance is designed to spark creativity and conversations around science, community, and resilience. It was wonderful for our students to experience this inspiring story brought to life by professional artists right here on campus!
