A Message from Principal Buchko
Dear Mac Families,
Happy Mother’s Day!

🌱 May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
This is the perfect time to recognize the importance of supporting our students’ emotional well-being alongside their academic growth. As parents and caregivers, you play a vital role in helping children build healthy habits for a strong mind and heart.
Here are a few simple tips to support your child’s mental health:
💬 Talk openly – Encourage your child to share their feelings, and listen without judgment.
🛌 Prioritize sleep – A consistent bedtime routine helps improve mood and focus.
🏃♂️ Get moving – Daily physical activity can reduce stress and boost confidence.
🎨 Create calm – Quiet time, art, or deep breathing can help your child relax and recharge.
💖 Model self-care – Show them that taking care of your own mental health is important too!
Let’s work together to make mental wellness a daily priority!

Educator Appreciation Week
Dear MacArthur Elementary Families,
We just have to say... you sure know how to make us feel Popular!
Thanks to your incredible thoughtfulness and generosity, Educator Appreciation Week was nothing short of Wicked—in the best way possible! From the spellbinding Gelsosomo’s Pizza to the energizing coffee and Munchkins, the magical "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" candy bar, the bewitching Court Street Burrito luncheon, the enchanting gift card raffle, and the heartfelt treats and gifts from our amazing PTO—every moment made us feel like we were Defying Gravity with gratitude.
Your support, kindness, and donations from the PTO and MacArthur families reminded us just how lucky we are to be part of this Oz-some community. You truly made this a week to remember.
Thank you for making us feel like we’ve been changed for good.
With all our thanks,
The MacArthur Elementary Staff
