A Note From Mrs. Diee
Hello, Lyncrest Families!
Today was our 100th Day of School! Wow! I'm so proud of our hardworking students, and look forward to watching them continue to grow the next 80 days!
On this Valentine’s Day, I want to take a moment to share all that I love about being the principal of this incredible school. I love the laughter in our hallways, the curiosity in our classrooms, and the kindness our students show each other every day. I love the dedication of our teachers and staff, who work tirelessly to inspire and support our students. And I love the partnership we have with our families, whose care and involvement help make our school such a special place.
Most of all, I love the sense of community we have built together—a place where every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. Thank you for being part of our Lyncrest family. Wishing you all a day filled with joy, kindness, and love! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Chronic absenteeism, defined as missing 10% or more of the school year for any reason, can have a significant impact on a child’s academic and social development. Regular attendance is essential for building foundational skills, staying engaged in learning, and developing strong peer relationships. Frequent absences can lead to lower reading and math proficiency, increased difficulty keeping up with classmates, and long-term academic struggles. Similarly, arriving late to school can cause students to miss important morning instruction, disrupt the classroom, and create stress as they try to catch up. Developing good attendance habits early helps set students up for success in school and beyond. As a school community, we encourage families to prioritize consistent and timely attendance, and we are here to support you in ensuring your child has every opportunity to learn and thrive. If you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
