September
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are so excited to see you. We hope everyone had a wonderful summer. We can’t wait to learn and grow with you this year!
Some reminders for the school year:
Water bottles are encouraged (water only) - be sure to label with your child’s name
Students should not bring toys to school (fidgets, pop-its, stuffed animals, etc.)
Remember to check ParentVue, Email, and Remind 101 for any communication from the school and/or your child’s teacher
*Teachers would love your support! Any donations of Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Eureka Math
During the first 2 ½ weeks of this month we will be completing Eureka Module 1. Our end of module assessment will cover sums and differences to 100. We will begin Module 2 shortly after which will be addition and subtraction of length units .
Unit 1 Math Topics:
A: Foundations for Fluency with Sums and Differences Within 100
B: Initiating Fluency with Addition and Subtraction Within 100
Unit 2 Math Topics:
A: Understand Concepts About the Ruler
B: Measure and Estimate Length Using Different Measurement Tools
C: Measure and Compare Lengths Using Different Length Units
D: Relate Addition and Subtraction to Length
Core Knowledge Language Arts
Students will review the elements of fiction. They will take the lessons that are learned from the stories and use them to relate to the problems the characters face. They will also be introduced to the American frontier as they listen to various tall tales and explore the elements of that genre. At the end of this unit, they will use their knowledge of the elements and characteristics of fairy tales and tall tales to write about a scene from a story and rewrite a fairy tale of their own.
Social Studies & Science
In Social Studies, we will begin learning about rules, laws, and choices people make about rights and responsibilities affect the common good of society. We will also practice collaboration skills that encourage cooperation, respect, and multiple perspectives help create problem solving communities.
In Science, students will investigate matter and its properties.
