Shelter in Place 11/13/24
We received a call from Pasadena Police Department yesterday at 2:25pm. We were instructed not to release students and/or staff due to a dispute that was being handled in the front of our school. We received information that the situation was clear however paramedics and fire department responded to the situation. We were scheduled to practice a shelter in place drill on Thursday, November 14th but due to the circumstances I placed the school in a shelter in place pending updates from the police department. This response was out an abundance of caution due to the circumstances and the additional crews that responded to our campus. The all clear for our school site was communicated at 2:55pm when emergency crews exited our premises. Our first and foremost priority is always the safety of our students and staff. The Pasadena Police Department's all clear means an immediate danger is controlled or detained (and this was communicated within 5 minutes from the original call to the school) but not knowing who and what were still outside when the fire department and paramedics arrived to campus, I did not lift the shelter in place for Field or give our all clear until the emergency crews left the premises. A Pasadena PD officer still remained on campus after our school dismissal. Teachers and staff were notified after school via email of the indirect situation that occured in front of the school.
Final Instructions for Ruby Bridges Walk to School Event
Hello Field friends of Ruby Bridges!
We look forward to walking with you tomorrow in Field's first EVER Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day! Here are some final details...
-BACKPACKS will go into a car at Sierra Donuts and be driven to the semi-circle in front of school. Before we enter school, children must pick up their backpacks and walk them to the MPR.
-ADULTS! SAFETY FIRST! During the walk, PLEASE walk on the STREET-SIDE (outside) of the sidewalk and HOLD YOUR CHILD'S HAND if/when necessary, especially when crossing Sierra Madre Blvd and Hastings Ranch Dr. Be aware: Sierra Madre Blvd is wide so we may need to stop in the median while crossing!
There will be a couple of wagons available to contain smaller kids during the walk, if needed.
-REMIND YOUR KIDS! SAFETY FIRST! DO NOT RUN! and stay on the inside of the sidewalk! Listen to the adults!
-WEAR PURPLE! If you have a purple shirt, wear it! PURPLE is the official color of the event. If you don't have anything purple, don't worry!, we will have lots of purple accessories!
Finally, at the conclusion of the presentation in the MPR, please put your walk accessories into the provided bins so that we can reuse them next year! :)
If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to Marissa Casados-Good at (626) 272-7112 or mccasados@gmail.com
Thanks and see you tomorrow!

PAZ NAZ Parking Lot
As of December 1st, PAZ NAZ will begin utilizing their parking lot for various events and activities for the remainder of this school year. There will be times that the parking lot is blocked completely. We are still not utilizing their parking lot, this fact has not changed. We are still practicing and respecting our neighbors as we continue to adjust to our new routines in the morning and afternoon for arrival and dismissal. PAZ NAZ has graciously offered their space for our upcoming winter performance in December. Please see the flyer below. In the meantime, please continue to adhere to our new parking routines.
