News From Encore
Mrs. Thompson - Innovation
I want to begin with saying how much fun I’ve had with your students this year. They are creative, innovative problem solvers. I’ve seen growth with each and every grade level this year. Their teamwork and problem solving skills have blossomed through the use of technology and the engineering design process.
We are wrapping up our year with several robot projects and a few classes have a final building project. If your student wants to participate in some STEM activities over the summer, here is a list of awesome websites with great resources.
Enjoy your summer and I can’t wait to see you all next year!

Eagle Heights Music Notes
The good times keep coming in the music room at EHE!
Dear Eagle Heights Parents,
Throughout the year, our students have delved into the world of music with curiosity and enthusiasm. From the resonating sounds of traditional instruments to the intriguing tones of unique and exotic ones, our music class has been a symphony of discovery.
In the coming weeks, we are excited to take our musical exploration to a fitting close as we introduce our students to a fascinating array of new and unique instruments. From the soothing sounds of the lap harps, theremin and the otamatone to the enchanting rhythms of the shekere, our students will have the opportunity to learn through play. I believe that exposing our students to a diverse range of instruments not only enhances their musical skills but also fosters a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and global interconnectedness.
Through this musical journey, our students have spent the year learning to play instruments, sing and study the building blocks of music. Most importantly they have been discovering the power of working together collaboratively to create new sounds and ideas.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for the arts at Eagle Heights. Together, let us continue to inspire and nurture the musical passions of our students as they spread their wings and soar to new heights of creativity and expression.
Warm regards, Mr. Venner, Music Teacher at Eagle Heights
Ms. Aeschliman - Art
THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the District Art Show on April 26-27. I thought we had a great turnout considering the busy time of year and the active weather we were expecting that weekend! All of your students' art show work has been passed back and sent home. The rest of the work we have been making will be sent home by the end of the school year.
Here a quick update on what your artist(s) have been up to lately in the art studio: PreK students made coffee filter butterflies & then the schedule rotated and I didn’t have them the second half of the month. Kindergarten worked real hard on getting their clay butterflies finished up in April and I fired them and we are using crayon and tempera paint to finish them off. My A+ students have been adding their hangers and antennae so they can come home to be enjoyed! In 1st grade we added paint daubers and legos to our rotation of centers. We also began making turtles with popsicle sticks and yarn wrapping. 2nd grade was introduced to the weaving looms. We have 2 pictures where they can practice weaving into the looms. One is a turtle, the other is a fish. I also taught them how to use mini gel plates with markers and they stamped them on their papers to make different designs. 3rd grade was introduced to the pom pom makers and they are busy making all kinds of things with pom poms now! They also practiced the running and whipstitch and then were allowed to make a burlap stitchery piece if they chose. 4th grade - was given the option to do some styrofoam printmaking this month. We also revisited the keva planks and Brain Builders kits. They choose a card and try to build the structure with the clues given on the front of the card. They can check their answers on the back of the card. 5th grade - learned some new tempera paint techniques and were given the option to do some printmaking with rubber stamps. To finish out the year, they will be given the opportunity for a sewing project. Sixth grade 3D Art has been doing a variety of projects from recycled junk sculptures to cardboard sculptures to clay to weaving pouches - they have a list of projects they get to choose from so there are a LOT of different projects going on at one time.

It’s been another great year of creativity this year in the Eagle Art Studio! Thank you again for all of your support this year!
