Registration for the 24-25 school year: Don't delay, complete registration today to ensure your child is assigned to a class for the upcoming school year. Your child will not be placed on a class roster until registration is complete. Two current proofs of residence are required for the upcoming school year such as a mortgage statement or lease agreement and a utility bill. Upload the documents to the MCPSS portal. If you have any questions, please contact our registrar, Mrs. Breland at jbreland@mcpss.com. Please complete by June 24th. Mrs. Breland will be out of the office from June 27th until July 22nd.
Kindercamp: July 17th and July 18th 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Kindercamp is a great opportunity for incoming kindergarteners to meet their future classmates and teachers in a fun and interactive learning environment. Students must be enrolled for the 24-25 school year before registering for Kindercamp. Register today for Kindercamp by using the following link: https://forms.gle/NP5H6fngwPv8obtb9
Day 1 of Kindercamp
Parents will walk their Kindergartener into the building through the gates to have a brief meeting in the cafeteria beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Day 2 of Kindercamp
Parents will practice using carpool lanes for morning drop-off and pick-up.
Carpool will begin at 8:20 a.m.
Dismissal will begin at 11:50 p.m.
Meet the Teacher : August 2nd
Meet the Teacher Day allows students to visit their new classroom, meet their teacher and learn about the exciting year ahead.
- Students with last names beginning with A-L will attend from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Students with last names beginning with M-Z will attend from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
General School Fees:
The general school fee of $10.00 per student will allow the school to purchase first aid items and supplies, computer maintenance, postage and a school "Treehouse" club shirt for each student. The Literacy and Numeracy Fee of $15.00 is waived this year due to Title 1 Funds for the 24-25 School Year. However, if you would like to contribute to the Literacy and Numeracy Fund for additional supplemental materials for teacher requests it will be considered a school donation. Student Fees are to be paid by cash, money order, cashier’s check, E-funds or personal check. All checks must include two (2) telephone numbers and a driver’s license number. If a family writes two NSF checks at the school (including cafeteria, PTA, fundraiser, etc.) no further checks may be written for the remainder of the school year. All additional items must be paid in cash. The family will also incur a $30.00 service charge for processing. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Summer Reading at the Mobile Public Library
Join MPL and our community partners at the Ben May Main Library as we kick off our Summer Library Celebration with fun activities, music, and much more! Our theme this summer is Adventure Begins At Your Library. The Kickoff party is on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to Noon.

June 10-13: Wayne Curtis and the Mobile Alabama Africatown Drummers - A hands on introduction to polyrhythm, timing, and listening while learning African and Afro Caribbean rhythms and their impact on popular music.
June 17, 18 & 20: Librarian’s Special - Most libraries will have a unique program this week.
June 24-27: Puppets N' Banjos with David Stephens - Meet Chubbly the puppet and enjoy banjo sing-a-longs!
July 3-6: Librarian’s Special - Most libraries will have a unique program this week.
July 8-12: Mobile Environmental Studies Center’s Wildlife of Mobile Road Show - Learn about the wonders of Mobile’s local animals!
July 15-18: Excelsior Band - Mobile’s favorite Mardi Gras band will perform songs and share jazz history.
July 22-25: Deborah Ferguson: The Dancing Story Lady - Professional storytelling featuring African songs and dancing.

Governor Ivey's Summer Reading Challenge
Alabama students, parents and educators: Our students worked hard this school year, and I couldn’t be prouder of their efforts in the classroom. As the school year wraps up, and we look ahead to our summer plans, I encourage our students to set aside dedicated time for reading. Governor Ivey ' s SU M M ER REA D I N G CHAL L E N GE To participate, Alabama students, entering grades K-8th for the 2024-2025 school year, may write a letter to me, sharing what their preferred summer reading book was and why it was their favorite. Parents and teachers, you can even get in on the action by showing me what our young learners are reading by sharing to Instagram and tweeting me at @GovernorKayIvey, using the hashtag #GKIsReadingChallenge. The reading fun begins now and ends July 31, 2024, so be sure to mail me your letters by then.
