PRINICPAL'S MESSAGE
Good evening,
We are excited to introduce a new initiative aimed at enhancing the safety and organization within our school. Starting February 10, 2025, all students will be required to always wear Student ID cards while on school premises. These ID cards will help our team identify students, ensure they are in the correct locations, and contribute to the overall safety of our building.
Key Points:
- ID Card Requirements:
- Students must wear their ID cards on top of all clothing, including jackets and hoodies.
- ID cards should be worn with the appropriate color lanyard:
- Yellow for 6th grade
- Gray for 7th grade
- Blue for 8th grade
- Students may replace their school provided lanyard with one of their likings, but it must follow the colors above.
- Purpose:
- The color-coded lanyards help our staff ensure that students are always in the right locations.
- In case of an emergency, these IDs can be used to identify students as EPMS students.
- Increased safety to ensure that all students, staff, and visitors are supposed to be in the building.
- Consequences for Not Wearing ID Cards:
- First Offense: Warning
- Second Offense: Silent Lunch
- Third Offense: Afterschool Detention
- Fourth Offense: Administrative Referral
- Loaner ID Cards:
- We understand that there may be days when students forget their ID cards. In such cases, they will need to obtain a loaner card for the day and return it at the end of the day.
We believe that this initiative will significantly improve our ability to maintain a safe and orderly environment for all students. We appreciate your support and cooperation in ensuring that your child adheres to these new guidelines.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at smithaj3@fultonschools.org.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership.
Sincerely,
AJ Smith
Better today than yesterday!

CELEBRATIONS
BLACK HISTORY MONTH AT ELKINS POINTE
This month we celebrate African Americans throughout history and their positive impact on our lives today. We are grateful for those that have worked to blaze a path for equality in America.
To celebrate National Black History Month the Jr. Beta Club is sponsoring a "Black History Trivia Contest" on the Titan Morning News. Each February, Elkins Pointe is proud to spotlight African Americans who made an impact on our country. The questions are read on the morning news; first-period teachers email the correct answer while the students use Google to help their teachers find the correct answers. The Titan Morning News Crew will provide donuts to the top three first-period classes at the end of February.
African Americans serving in the military service throughout U.S. history have often fought on two fronts. fighting the actual enemy and fighting a system of segregation and exclusion.

SCHOOL COUNSELOR APPRECIATION
National School Counseling Week (#NSCW25) took place from February 3 to 7, 2025! Let's give a huge round of applause to our incredible school counselors, who are essential for student success and career planning! A heartfelt thank you to our outstanding counselors at Elkins Pointe, Ms. Jody Glude and Ms. Jennifer Hawkins—you're the true MVPs!
LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYSCOUTS!
Elkins Pointe 7th grade students and Boy Scouts made us proud by retiring the worn American flag and hoisting up a fresh new one. Although the students are in different Boy Scout troops, we are proud of their commitment the United States Flag. Thank you to Smith Freedman and Nathan Rogers for your service to our school.
VALENTINE'S DAY
Families,
There is no Valentine's Day quite like middle school Valentine's Day! Love is in the air and our students enjoy showing each other these special feelings. We only have one restriction for safety on this day.
* Candy and gummies will not be shared with other students for any reason. *
There have been cases where gummies and other candy has had other illegal substances mixed in. To ensure safety on this fun filled day, no candy or gummies will be allowed TO BE SHARED with other students.
THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
