Popcorn, cocoa and coffee will be for sale. This is a private event for Big Lake Elementary families, it is not open to the public, so bring your family and friends and have some fun on the ice. LOST & FOUND
NAEP Test Information
NAEP info
Big Lake Elementary’s 4th graders have been chosen to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) assessment on March 2, 2017. This assessment is the tool that our Nation uses to collect information regarding the academic progress of the Nation’s school system. Each student is randomly assigned either a math or reading assessment and the results are only used for informational purposes. These results are not used for grading your child’s ability in any such way. In fact our school or district does not even view any of the test questions or results. Students are encouraged to do their very best. Like the administration of the state tests we ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the test through specific protocols. A group of testers will come to our school to administer this test to ensure that all testing protocols are followed. More information about the test is provided for parents through the following link, https://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/parents/ . If you have any additional questions or concerns about this test please feel free to contact Mrs. Lovelace at 892-9746.

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
Starting on Feb. 1st through Feb. 24th our school is having a penny drive for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Leukemia is cancer of the blood, and causes more deaths than any other cancer in children, adolescents, and young adults. The donations received for this drive will go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help with therapy to assist individuals with this condition.
On Tuesday January 31st students will bring home a flier explaining the purpose of this drive, and they will also bring home a small box that they can collect change in for their donation. There is also website for online donations which is as follows: http://event.lls.org/pages/wa/big-lake-Elementary- School-2017. Our schools goal for this drive is $750.Please help us reach our goal. This is a voluntary fundraiser and your child is not required to participate.
