Staff Spotlights
EbonΓ© Adams, SCWS Principal
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Read and create Textured Art paintings.
Tell a little bit about your background.
I have worked at SC Whitmore School since 2011. I received my undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and my Ed.S. in School Counseling from the University of South Carolina. I started my career as a school counselor in 2009 in a virtual school setting. Since then, I've served as the School Counselor, Director of School Counseling, Director of Student Services, Assistant Principal and Principal.
What do you do at SCWS and what do you enjoy most about your role?
I currently serve as SCWS Principal. I enjoy working with a team of people who share the same compassion for embracing our students as a whole. We always strive to provide a high quality education, but we know that the first step is ensuring students are ready and willing to learn by supporting the whole student and building a trusting relationship. Our team has always been committed to do what it takes to make our students feel special and encouraging them to reach their maximum potential.
What do you want the students to know about you?
I am always here for support. My goal is to always advocate for our students and we will always work together to make sure they are successful at SC Whitmore School.
Erin Wheeler, Special Education Teacher
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to ride my motorcycle, hang out with friends, go on road trips, and try new places to eat with my family.
Tell a little bit about your background.
I was born and raised in Chapin SC, where I still reside. I graduated from Chapin HS in 2010. I then graduated from Columbia College with my Bachelors in 2014. Next I graduated from Columbia College with my Masters in 2017. Now I am currently enrolled in Arkansas State University for my Administration Certification. I have been with SCWS since 2015.
What do you do at SCWS and what do you enjoy most about your role?
I wear a lot of hats but I am an Academic Success Teacher, SPED Department Chair, MLL Co-Coordinator and sit on a few different committees. I enjoy seeing my students achieve their goals. Having students tell me every year that I have positively impacted their lives is what makes my job worth it to me.
