Tiger Beat
North Elementary Newsletter | September 15, 2024
Thank you to all who attended Back to School Night last Thursday. It was so wonderful to see our existing families and get to meet our new families! We got a lot of positive feedback that parents and staff alike felt that the change in format provided more overall flexibility for everyone.
Our first PTO meeting of the year will be this Tuesday at 6:00 PM. I encourage families to consider joining to support all of the wonderful events, programs, and activities that wouldn't be possible without this dedicated group!

Safety Reminders
- Please remember that all snacks should be nut free to protect our students with allergies in our classrooms. This includes peanut butter and Nutella. (These foods are OK at lunchtime since our students have access to allergen free tables)
- If students bring a football in for recess, it should be a soft, Nerf-type football to prevent injury.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!

Logos will be placed on the back of the T-Shirts worn by students and staff on the day of the run and other events throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to support our school and advertise for your business at the same time!

North spirit wear will be available in October or November. More information to come!
News from the Health Office
A few reminders from Nurse Stephanie in our Health Office to help keep all of our students safe and healthy:
Students with active vomiting, diarrhea, open rashes, crusty/inflamed eyes, and/or temperature > 100 are asked to remain home from school.
Students may return from school when their temperature is < 100 for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Illness Specific:
Strep: Must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school. Students need a note to return.
Pink eye: Must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school.
Hand Foot Mouth: Fever-free for 24 hours and no open skin lesions. All areas must be scabbed/closed over
Vomiting/Diarrhea: May return when tolerating good amounts of food/water and no vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hours
Please do not send medication to school in your child’s backpack. Anything with an active ingredient is designated a medicine in school. Tiger Beat Newsletter Feedback
Tiger Beat is meant to be a weekly one-stop shop for families to access important dates, information, and reminders. I also use it to share photos so that you can get a window into North each week. Whether you were with us last year or if this is your first edition of the newsletter, if you have any ideas about how Tiger Beat can be improved, please use the linked Google Form to let me know.
