Happy January, Cardinal Families!
Welcome to a brand-new year and semester! I hope your winter break was filled with rest, joy, and special moments with loved ones. As we step into January, we’re also embarking on the start of a new semester—a fresh opportunity for learning, growth, and achievement.
The new year is a perfect time for reflection and goal setting. For our students, this means looking back at their accomplishments so far and identifying areas they’d like to improve or grow in the months ahead. January offers a clean slate and a chance to renew motivation as we continue to work toward our educational goals together.
Here are a few reminders and updates as we start the new semester:
- Student Success Center: Open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, this resource continues to provide personalized academic support. Encourage your child to use it whenever they need extra help or a place to go and do some dedicated work.
- IXL Math Practice Program: Available anytime, this tool helps students build and strengthen math skills at their own pace. I recommend using this program at least 10-15 minutes a day. The growth with just doing this for 10-15 minutes a day will surely be something to celebrate.
- Teacher Support: Our teachers are always here to assist. If your child could benefit from additional time or guidance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their teacher directly.
This month, we are also gearing up for state testing in March. Although it may seem far away, the foundation for success starts now. Encouraging daily habits like consistent study routines, active participation in classes, and goal-setting will help your child feel prepared and confident when testing arrives.
In addition, we’re continuing to focus on our WASC self-study and LCAP report. Your insights as families and community members are invaluable in helping us serve our students effectively. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to complete any surveys sent out in recent weeks—we genuinely value your feedback.
As we begin this exciting new chapter, I encourage families to work together to create a positive and supportive learning environment at home. Small adjustments, like setting up a dedicated study space or establishing clear daily goals, can make a big difference in keeping students on track.
Finally, let’s remember to celebrate progress, no matter how big or small. Acknowledging each step forward helps build momentum and fosters a sense of accomplishment.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making Tracy Charter School a place where students can thrive. Let’s make this semester our best one yet!
Wishing you all a happy and successful January.
Sincerely,
Annabelle Lee
