NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Singing: All students in grades 3K through 8th grade will sing for worship this Sunday, September 22. The worship service is at 9:00 am. The children should be here and meet in the K-2 classroom by 8:40 am.
Kickball Tournament: Trinity's K-8 students will be participating in a kickball tournament on Friday, September 20 in Eagle River. Those who have agreed to drive...we need a current copy of your vehicle insurance and the coverages. You will also be asked to provide a current drivers license before leaving with the children on Friday. We are also in need of a couple coolers to use for the day. If you have one, please let Pam know in the office. And don't forget that Trinity families are asked to bring fruit or veggies that can be easily shared with all of the children. THANK YOU to all who have been willing to drive and volunteer.
Church Attendance: Every week, church attendance will be taken in kindergarten through 8th grade. Its intent is to encourage an active worship life in our school families. Please make weekly worship the highlight of your week.
Sunday School and Bible Class: These resumed on Sunday. They are both conducted each Sunday following our 9:00 am worship service (10:30 am). Sunday School is for students in preschool through 4th grade. Bible Class is for 5th-8th grade, high school students, and adults. All are welcome to attend!
Midweek Chapel: Each Wednesday (8:15 am) throughout the school year, Trinity conducts a midweek chapel service. We encourage and invite all of our preschool and K-8 parents and families to join the students for this 15-20 minute service each week. This year’s chapels will center around the theme “Connected to Christ”. Our chapel offerings will be given to the Military Services Committee. This committee provides face to face ministry to WELS military personnel serving in the United States and Europe. They also provide resources for those serving on ships or deployed somewhere else in the world. To date, we have collected ????????? for this ministry.
Lost and Found: If your student misplaces an item during the school year, be sure to check the lost and found shelf outside the office.
School Absences: If your student will not be in school on a given day due to illness, please either call the school office to leave a message or contact your student’s teacher directly. Only parents can excuse an absence; siblings cannot. A Notice of Absence sheet (available in the school office or online) needs to be filled out when an absence is preplanned. It should be returned to your student’s teacher prior to the absence. Thanks for your cooperation!
Cross Country: Practices have been going great and are being conducted during recess on Wednesdays and Fridays. Our meet will be held this Saturday, September 21, at Sunnyvale Park in Wausau. Please contact Mr. Habben if you have any questions.
Volleyball: Congratulations to our volleyball team as they split 4 games with the Northern Lights Club last week! This week, they will travel to Rhinelander to take on the Zion Lions on Tuesday, September 17 with games to begin at 4:30 pm. Their next home game will be in October.

In 3-5 science we are learning about forces and motion and are preparing to make a marble roller coaster. We have a quiz on Monday 9/16 on lesson 1.
In 6-8 science we are learning about how energy flows through ecosystems and we will be making a compost bin soon. We will need a tray to go under a small bin, newspaper, dead leaves, and grass clippings. If you have any of these materials please bring them to school. Once our compost bin is made, if you have any food scraps such as coffee grounds, tea bags/leaves, fruit and veggie scraps, egg shells, or cereal/bread, send them with your child to school to feed the worms.
In STEAM this last week we continued to learn about programming and following directions. This week, we will do some minute-to-win-it games that encourage team building.
