A message from our Executive Director of Special Services, Dr. Staley
Greetings everyone! Spring is in the air!
It is hard to believe that March is already here. It won’t be long before the warm weather arrives. I want to personally invite you to the Transition Night here at the Learner Support Center. All information is listed below.
As you are aware, home-to-school communication is an important factor in your child’s success in school. I posted this information last year and I do think that this is as important now as it was then.
HELP YOUR CHILD SUCCEED
- Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
- Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
- Do not let your child stay home unless she is truly sick. Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
- If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, or school counselors for advice on how to make your child feel comfortable and excited about learning.
- Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent
- Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.
All your efforts and parental involvement is a direct correlation to your child’s success, so again, we say THANK YOU! We continue to seek your support and assistance with reminding your child of their role and responsibilities while in school: Come to school prepared to learn, follow CCISD school rules, and ALWAYS remain Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Let’s continue to do our best!!
Don't forget to check out our Calendar of Events listed at https://www.ccisd.net/specialservices. More events will be added as we continue to collaborate with you and find out what your needs are. Thanks for all that you do to help us grow and for your continued support! Remember that

Texas Educational Diagnostician's Week 2025
Celebrating Educational Diagnosticians Week – March 3-7, 2025!
We’re excited to recognize Educational Diagnosticians Week in Texas, happening March 3-7, 2025! Clear Creek ISD is fortunate to have 36 dedicated Educational Diagnosticians who provide invaluable support to our students, staff, families, and community.
These professionals play a vital role in identifying students' learning needs, collaborating with educators and families, and ensuring every child receives the resources necessary to succeed. Their expertise and dedication help shape brighter futures for our students.
This week, we encourage you to join us in showing appreciation for their hard work and commitment. Click here to send a message of gratitude to your child’s or school’s Educational Diagnostician!
When Educational Promises Are To Good To Be True
When a child struggles to read, parents and educators want to do everything possible to help that child keep up with his or her peers and be successful in school. But as much as we want that to happen overnight, that is not how it usually works. It can take years of hard work, even with the best teachers and instruction. Unfortunately, some organizations or individuals may take advantage of parents when they are most vulnerable by making exaggerated claims or false guarantees based on “pseudo-science.” This fact sheet provides guidance in learning to critically evaluate programs, avoid scams, and move forward toward providing instruction that will truly help the children who need it.
First SIBSHOPS was a huge success!!!
One of the first SIBSHOPS in the state of Texas was held at the Parent Resource Center on 1-3-2025. This was a fun interactive event where siblings of children with support needs have the opportunity to meet other sibs, talk about the good and the not so good parts of having a sibling with support needs to others that actually get it, play some great games and explore how other siblings handle sticky situations sometimes faced by sibs, laugh, learn about the services that their brother or sister receive, learn about disabilities and have more fun. We were excited to host this great event! We had 15 attendees and are hoping to expand to 20. These events will be held once a month on the last Thursday at 6:30pm. We are grateful for you sharing your children with us.
