Dear Everitt Families:
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
We had a fun spirit week this week as we headed into Spring Break. Today, our students and staff competed in volleyball, three-legged races, and more during our spirit assembly. Thank you, Student Council and Sources of Strength, for all your work in making the assembly wonderful.
Our choir and ukulele groups performed on Thursday evening at Wheat Ridge High School. Our students did a wonderful job! The theme of the evening was courage and vulnerability and it showed throughout the evening. The combined choirs sang a song called "I Will Carry the Light" that perfectly captured the evening. It was about carrying hope for each other and our choirs sang it beautifully. Thank you to Ms. Adducci and her students for all of their hard work and for a reminder of the difference each member of our community can make by just being our kind, wonderful, beautiful selves.
As we move into CMAS season when we return from Spring Break, I want to share a couple of thoughts. CMAS provides us with one opportunity for our students to show all that they learned and how much they've grown so far this year. While it is an important opportunity, it is only one opportunity. As our students prepare to take the tests, we are reminding them of how proud we are of them and to do their best. We are giving them chances to practice with the tools in the test so that nothing gets in the way of them showing everyone what Everitt students are all about. You'll notice in the photos of the volleyball game at the spirit assembly that our staff is wearing t-shirts that say "We show up!" We will wear them each day of testing as a reminder that the Everitt community shows up every day and do our best. The things we can do as parents to support our students is to make sure they get lots of sleep and eat well the nights before the tests and remind them of how much we love them and how proud we are of them. They've got the rest!
I hope you have a wonderful Spring Break with your families!
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!
