March Month of Giving
ASB's newly formed Outreach Committee is hosting "March Month of Giving." After much deliberation, the committee decided that the focus of this year would be helping low income and unsheltered individuals/families. During the month of March, we will be collecting donations of toiletries to build hygiene kits that will be donated to the Salvation Army Kroc Center Family Resource Department. A donation box will be located in the front office. The donation drive needs unopened (preferably full size) toiletry items. This is includes, but is not limited to: Shampoo, Conditioner, Soap, Razor, Lotion, Period Products, Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste, Deodorant, Mouth Wash, Floss, Socks, Bandaids, Brush/Combs, Tissues, Wipes, Hand Sanitizer, and Lip Balm. The committee is also looking for donations of Gallon-sized Ziploc Baggies to create the hygiene kits. Following the donation period, ASB will host a hygiene kit building event where students can assist in building the kits. Please help us achieve our goal of building 50 hygiene kits. "A helping hand can be a ray of sunshine in a cloudy world."
Kindness Rocks
Ms. G and Ms. Shannon invite all students to participate in a lunch time activity March 12, 13, and 14.
Inspired by the “Kindness Rocks” project, we will gather under the pine tree next to the Zen garden to create beautiful rocks with inspirational messages. We will add these rocks to the front garden after its complete overhaul in a few weeks.
How can rocks spread kindness?
“This painted rock, sometimes called a kindness stone, is simply a rock that someone has decorated with an inspirational message. They can be any size or shape, as big or small as you like! The point of this stone painting is to sprinkle positivity around your community. Once you create one, the idea is to leave it somewhere for another person to find and enjoy. As we all know, sometimes a simple message of love and compassion can spark joy and brighten someone's entire day.”
This event is co-sponsored by MEA’s wellness committee in our continuing efforts to “create and connect” or “gather and grow” off a device or screen.
Rocks and materials provided. All students (K-12) are welcome! No parent supervision required. Please pickup your K-5 student at 12:30 in the front office.

Academics
Leader in Me - Habit 6: Synergize
This month, our school is focusing on Habit 6: Synergize (Work together to achieve more)
Habit 6: Synergize is the major achievement of independent relationships: the ability to create synergy with another person. Synergy creates an outcome that’s greater than the sum of its parts, as in 1+1 = 3 or more.
In other words, two people working together can create greater results than would have been possible separately. Synergize proves the 7 habits work together by furthering communication skills.
Testing Room
Mt. Everest Academy students have the opportunity to reschedule their tests, outside of scheduled class time, to be proctored by a staff member in B15. Students will require permission from their class teacher, before requesting to test in B-15. Requests should be made no later than 24 hours before your requested testing time.
To reschedule your exam, please visit MEA Testing Room Website.
