"The Postcard Project"
Miss Rodriguez and Mr. Silhavy's classes read Walk two Moon written by Sharon Creech. The classes created postcards from each landmark Sal, the main character, visited and written notes, from Sal's point of view, to her friend's back home.
Reminder
Halloween is fast approaching and will be celebrated at Middlebrook School on Wednesday, October 30th. This is a fun time for our students. Kindergarten and First grade students are invited to come to school dressed in costume; while Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth graders can bring a costume that can be put on in their classroom over their clothes.
Please know that costumes are OPTIONAL. Costumes cannot be violent in nature. Face paint or scary masks such as the “Evil Jester”, “It”, “Grim Reaper”, “Chucky”, “Scream” or any other costumes that contain blood/scars will not be allowed to be worn. No accessories of any kind are allowed.
Thank you for helping us to keep our students safe.
DIWALI
Diwali, which is also referred to as the festival of lights, is the most important holiday of the year and is primarily celebrated in India. It will take place beginning on October 31st and lasts for five days. The holiday period of Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. The festival is marked by lighting oil lamps, decorating homes with colorful rangoli, exchanging gifts and sweets, and setting off fireworks. Each day of the festival has its own significance, with rituals and traditions varying by region.

This week our Teacher Appreciation Committee distributed snack baskets to sustain our teachers during Parent-Teacher conferences. We appreciate all our teachers and support staff!
PTA would like to thank every volunteer that came in to help with our Scholastic Book Fair! Thank you for making this Book Fair a huge success! PTA paid for over $4,500.00 of books to our students.
