The Latest from L'Etoile
1/17/2025
Dear Franklin Academy Families,
As we approach the long weekend, we wish you a wonderful time as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 20th. Please remember that there will be no school on Monday in honor of the holiday.
We’ve added quite a few updates to this week's newsletter. Thank you for taking the time to read through it!
Here are a few important updates:
- Franklin’s Intent to Return (ITR) Process is Coming: The ITR window will open on 2/3/25. Please stay tuned for more details.
- Tardiness Concerns: We have noticed an increase in tardies. Tardiness impacts all classes, as teachers must pause instruction to open the classroom door. For your child’s safety, only staff members are allowed to open classroom doors, which creates disruptions to lessons and affects the learning environment for all students.
- Parent Referral Program Launch: We are excited to announce our new Parent Referral Program. We encourage our current families to help spread the word and refer new families to our school. More information is available below.
Additionally, please take a moment to give a “Shout Out” to a Franklin staff member by clicking the link below. Sharing your positive experiences helps motivate our team and supports the creation of a positive and nurturing learning environment for all of our students.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Franklin Community! Enjoy the long weekend!
All the Best,
Mrs. L'Etoile
Start off the year by filling out the form above to give a shout-out to a Franklin Staff Member! Your feedback is essential in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our team. By sharing your positive experiences, you help motivate our staff and contribute to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all our students. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education as we kick off this exciting new year!
Handbook Highlight: Tardies
This week, we have seen a significant increase in tardies, with 109 students tardy on Wednesday and 136 students tardy yesterday. Tardiness impacts all classes, as teachers must stop instruction to open the classroom door. For your child’s safety, we only allow staff members to open classroom doors, which causes interruptions to lessons and disrupts the learning experience for all students.
We kindly ask that you make an effort to arrive to school on time. For elementary students, on-time arrival means being here by 7:20 AM, and for middle school students, by 8:20 AM. Please note that the carline in the morning does not back up until 7:20 AM for elementary drop-off. Students arriving after 7:30 AM will be marked tardy.
Your support in ensuring timely drop-offs is greatly appreciated. By working together, we can minimize disruptions and create the best learning environment for all students.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Parent Referral Program
We are excited to announce that Franklin Academy is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, with the goal of achieving full enrollment at each grade level. To support this effort, we are launching a Parent Referral Program and encourage all of our current families to help spread the word and refer new families to our school.
By participating, families can earn service hours for each referred family that attends a campus tour. Additionally, new families will be entered into a drawing for a free Franklin uniform set upon enrollment.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Pick up referral postcards at the front office or access digital copies on our website and in our weekly newsletter.
- Share the postcards in person, via social media, text, or email.
- Encourage referred families to attend a campus tour with completed materials.
Franklin Academy is known for its high academic standards, consistently exceeding district and state performance benchmarks. With our dedicated teachers, small class sizes, and unique IB World School designation, we ensure that your child receives the best possible education.
Thank you for being an integral part of our community and for helping us grow and strengthen the Franklin family!

IB Five Year Evaluation- Parent Questionnaire
Franklin Academy is in the evaluation phase for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
In order to maintain our status as an IB World School, we are required to complete a “self-study” every five years. One of the requirements of the IB Review is to involve all stakeholders (parents, students, teachers, administrators) in reflecting on the practices and standards of our IB diploma programme.
We encourage parents to be a part of the self-study process. Please complete the IB questionnaire using the link below. We look forward to your feedback.
