Madison Traditional Academy - The Guild PTO
Principal's Update
Dear MTA Parents,
Field Days: MTA Field Days are being held this week. Students may wear their spirit shirt on the day of their field day, but must still wear approved uniform bottoms. Currently, there some rain in the forecast, so we will monitor the weather reports and alert you if it becomes necessary to cancel any of the scheduled Field Days. In the event a Field Day has to be canceled due to inclement weather, it would be rescheduled for the week after we return from Spring Break. Additional Field Day questions may be directed to MTA Physical Education teacher, Bryant Holcomb.
The bike rack in front of the school will be moved to the bike rack area near the cafeteria. This is where the bike rack was located before COVID. Students will be able to walk their bike on campus to the bike rack where it will be locked in during school hours.
Spring Break: Reminder that Spring Break recess is March 13th – 17th and the school office will be closed.
I hope you all have a safe and relaxing Spring Break!
Sincerely,
Chris Merrill
Principal
Guild Updates
2023 Read-a-thon Update
The 2023 Read-a-thon has ended and what an incredible event!
As a school and community, we raised over $50,000! More than 520 students participated in the two-weeks and collectively read over 140,000 minutes. The MTA families, friends and community truly stepped up for this fundraiser and we are so appreciative of all the support.
Thank you to Mr. Merrill and all the teachers for their support throughout the entire process and helping to engage the students and families. Big shout out to all the volunteers who helped before and during the event to make every aspect of the fundraiser a reality. And a huge thank you to each one of you for your support of the fundraiser and helping us foster and grow the love of reading with all our kids.
Family Fun Day Update Thank you to Nikki Khraizat and the entire FFD committee for your hard work on this event. We had over 700 MTA friends and families in attendance and raised over $9,000 dollars to go towards Guild Sponsored activities at the school. Thank you to all MTA families who attended and supported the school.
